Title: Duluth Packs for Sale - BOTH SOLD
Post by: Oldandintheway on June 06/25/18, 08:42:01 PM
I have two virtually new, lightly used (twice in a boat to Voyagers National Park) Duluth Canoe Packs I’d like to get out of my basement. One is the Monarch 3, the other is the Camp Kitchen pack. Both sell for nearly $600 new, but I’ll let these go for $450 ea. They are in perfect working condition … might have a bit of dust or discoloration from sitting idle for 5 or so years, but no wear, broken parts or holes. Includes all parts (straps, liners, etc.) Check the Duluth Pack website for detailed info on these packs. They come with a lifetime guarantee!

Photos are from the duluth pack website, but I can send photos of actual packs for sale, if requested.

Located in Grand Rapids, MN.

PM me for more details or photos.

Nice looking packs, far cry from my #3 pack from the 70's,but" holy sheep shist" $600 new!,think I paid less than $50 for a lightly used canvas pack back then, but a great bwca pack.

Kondos outdoors makes a better pack for way less money.

Just can't see why those genuine Duluth Packs are so spendy.  I like their stuff and their store but holy cow...
It would make me feel really sad to drop one of those $600 jobs in the mud on a portage.

But apologies for messing with your sale...

I can't say if they get any more traffic from lurkers than this forum does.

Your packs are going to be a hard sell,Most packers now days want pertty nylon with aluminum frames. Try to advertise up near Ely Boundary waters area where you may find?Or will find people that are more into fine packs.
My first trips with duluth packs were 1966,67.till 76 before the modern day frame pack was mass produced. They were costly then but were the only large packs

Maybe.  I deer hunt with a guy who has been using the same rugged canvas team bag for as long as I've know him - over 40 years.  I can't tell you how many nylon team bags I've blown through.

I think there is still a market for vintage style and lasting quality.

I agree that these are expensive ... but they will last longer than most of us. They aren't intended for casual use ... mostly for the guy who wants to get the best and be done with it. You see these up in the BWCA all the time, and are a staple item for most BWCA outfitters. You can get packs for less, and you will get less ...

Kind of a "niche" item. Like buying mechanic's tools...you want old school SK Wayne's, that will last ya a lifetime, or Stanley's from Ace Hardware, that will work. An individual thing, depending on how ya work 'em. You'll find someone.

For canoeing a frame pack is a terrible thing.   The packs I see at the outfitters and on the trail are all cordura nylon by Granite Gear, Kondos, (I think there is another one but I can't recall the name).  Authentic Duluth Packs are like buying an orvis bamboo fly rod.   Definitely a great piece of equipment but really spendy.
And of course nylon dries a lot faster should it get left out in the rain.
(now that we are really off the topic).
I would go with ebay myself if I had something like that to sell or maybe facebook if you could find the right group.
As they say on Shark Tank.... I'm out.
