I was in one of my favorite stands this morning. It was clear cut 3 years ago. The loggers left a few red oaks. My stand is on a oak which is on top of a mound. Had a 6 pointer come running right at me and stop in a clump of poppies 50 yards away. 10 seconds later this 8 pointer comes flying out of the same spot and chases after the 6 pointer. He stopped behind the same clump. He watches the 6 pointer circle around him and takes off after him. He made the mistake of cutting across a grassy area. 4 leaps and he was down. The second picture is how he died.
