I think some of that goes on, more than folks think. Up north at out of the way places where a shot here and there is normal year around or with a bow where silence is required. Not saying it's right, but I think some eat venison year around. It has been going on for many years. This guy is not too bright at all. good luck.

We had neighbors that had deer year round. The DNR guys would know when too, but if it was for meat and they weren't financially well, they would look the other way. Sometimes, they would get a finger waved at them. They would back off and all would be well. This was a while back, but I'm sure it still goes on.
