We are planning on putting up 2-3 permanent deer stands on our property for next deer season so I was hoping I could get some of you to post some pics of your perm deer stands that you have built for some ideas of which way to go with ours.

We have a couple spots that will work great for a tower type stand and a few other spots where we could do more of a perm ladder type stand or treehouse type stand between several trees.

Any pics shared would be greatly appreciated!  :happy1:

Scott, There are lots of plans for tower stands.  Building a tree stand is another issue. It's a bit of an art to find the location and construct a stand that will hold together.  I strongly suggest NOT using 4 stems of a basswood.  You will be reparing all the time.

Top photo is my mothers 4 X 8 condo and the bottom on is my brother 4 x 4 penthouse.  The frames are similar in size and are made of 4x4 tube steel.  My mothers stand is 15 years old and the brothers is new this year.

Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

We have found that building tree stands in pine or cedar last a lot longer then most others.

I built one of these type of stands for my grandpa after he had a stroke.  He was still able to hunt with us..  I enjoy being in the outdoors myself, but I think these types of stands offer a couple more years at deer camp for our more "experienced" members.  We are talking about building one for grandma (she is almost 80).

I built a nother one like that this year. I figure why hunt in the rain or snow or cold when you don't have to. I sit in ladder stands when bow hunting. Definately not as comfortable.
