where do the big bucks go when the pressures on?

« on: July 18, 2010, 05:49:50 PM »

what Bow does everyone use? arrows of choice? broadheads? mechanical or fixed? I shoot my Bowtech Oldglory. 65lb draw 75% letoff. all though it is a little longer than most of the bows now (40inches) but its fairly light, and it is blazing fast(328fps) my arrow of choice is the Easton N-fused carbon St Axis in realtree APG with quickspin fletchings. on the end of it i have luminocks and on the other end i shoot muzzy MX4's at 100 grain fixed heads

now that bow season is only 61 days away lets get to talking about it

Ive got a Parker Wildfire XP, with 30" and 65lb draw, with 80% let off - shoots pretty fast so no need to bump it to 70lb.  Im shooting Carbon Express -weight forward- RebelHunter arrows and 1-1/4" Crimson Talon Broadheads - 100grain.  My release is a Tru-Fire Hurricane.
But I may be switching to Muzzy broadheads next year, not too sure yet.  Ill be going out shooting in a few weeks and see if they still fly!
Now I just have to apply for my Turkey license and ill be set for this year - lets hope I can get my deer and turkey!

Well without looking and pulling it off the shelf.  I'm shooting a Hoyt vortec, Bemon arrows, Mechanical heads, 29 inch draw, and it's a tack driver.

Here is my favorite picture of my bow.  (sorry I couldn't resist)  It's a Bowtec.  It's still setup just as it was when I bought it from a fellow MNO'er several years ago.  I did replace the strings but I'm still using everything including points and arrows that I got with it.

I'll throw my hat in the ring for Bear archery.
I'm shooting a done deal at 62 pounds and 29 inch draw.
beaman ics hunters tipped with muzzy 100 3 blade. hit what your aiming at and kill it.

my back up bow is a reflex buckskin at 62 pounds.

thinking about upgrading to the bear attack. we'll see how the work season pans out.
I'd rather spend the money on a new lone wolf climber if I can only do one or the other.

I'll be shooting my old Martin Cougar this year, it's similar to this but mine's in a little bit better shape:

Last season I was able to use a dealer bow and loved it.  It was a Hoyt Katera, and I'm working on saving up for something similar.

I shoot Easton ST Axis Nano Realtree APG 340s with a Spittfire Maxx on the end of it.  I kept all the other accessories that were on the Hoyt.

She weighed in at 128 pounds after she was field dressed.  I won a Yukon pop-up blind and a Mr. Heater Big Buddy heater with her.  Not to mention she's the tastiest deer I've had yet.

I tell you what, if you are going to shoot a deer that size, make sure you have someone to help you pull it out and have a hoist and gambrel at home too.  I had to do this one all on my own and after getting her out of the brush into the car and home, I didn't have much gas left to get her strung up.

Man, now I got another banquet I gotta check out!
