this better be the last one.. plow just broke on the wheeler.. I can fix it.. but would rather wait and forget about it until next year when I need it again.

why stop at a ranger.. you know a bobcat with tracks could make her a dang nice flower garden, help her daughter get a deer. and just keep me out of trouble.

                        Spring has left the building!

Snow is back in the forecast for the week ahead. :doah:

After a cooldown over the weekend, the Northland may be in line to see more snow in the coming week.

National Weather Service forecasters are keeping an eye on a storm system expected to develop over the Great Plains on Tuesday and move into the Upper Midwest. The storm will bring the potential for at least several inches of snow in parts of the region from late Tuesday through late Wednesday.

As of Sunday night, forecast models indicated that the best chance for accumulating snow is from central Minnesota into northern Wisconsin, with Duluth and Superior perhaps on the northern edge. But there remains uncertainty over where - and how much - snow will fall; check back for forecast updates.

There's also a chance for some scattered snow showers in the Northland on Monday.

Duluth's seasonal snowfall stands at 118.1 inches, good for seventh place on the list of the city's snowiest winters. The city is 1 inch from tying the winter of 1988-89 for the sixth snowiest. The record is 135.4 inches, set in 1995-96.

Duluth has received 13.4 inches of snow so far this month; the average is 4 inches.

4-8 inches for northern Minnesota tonight and in to tomorrow.  It looks like Duluth should have a new record by Wednesday evening.   :surrender:

Nope. need 17.4 for a new record but it looks like we may move up the ladder for snow fall totals, no thank you. I am still working on getting a frozen snow/ice pile off my deck and the big garden has a foot of snow on it still. Everyone here is done with snow, even the diehard skiers want to see a little brown ground for at least a few months!

:reporter; This just came in over the AP wire ....... MNO news alert!
Bobby Bass is so sick of the snow this year in Duluth that he went to the army surplus store yesterday. He told the clerk "I'll take that one sitting in the corner of the store." I would say his Idea just may work for next season. Let's just hope he don't take his Ideas over to the lodge and get to carried away.

:reporter;Winter storm watch issued for parts of the Northland

Apr 24, 2014

:banghead:  Just when we all thought winter was done: A winter storm watch was issued late Wednesday for parts of the Northland from this afternoon through Friday morning.

The watch — for the potential of 6 or more inches of snow — is for Lake and Cook counties. The National Weather Service reported Wednesday that rain that moved into the region is forecast to mix with and possibly change over to all snow today. :snow5:

There remained some uncertainty in forecast snow totals; check duluthnewstribune.com today for updates. But the Weather Service reported that snowfall may reach a half-foot — or more — in the watch area. :snow2: The greatest snow totals are expected on grassy areas, with lesser amounts on roads because they’ll take more time to cool down and allow snow to accumulate.

Elsewhere in the region, the Iron Range and International Falls may see 2 to 5 inches of snow later today into Friday, with perhaps an inch or two of slushy accumulation in Duluth, Superior, Cloquet and other communities in the Northland.

Skies should clear for the weekend but high temperatures on Saturday and Sunday are forecast to reach only the 40s, slightly below normal for this time of year.

Just after midnight we passed last seasons snowfall record, with the 4 inches that fell we are now in 3rd place for this season.( all time ) We have a chance at more snow again next Monday. Setting records is not always what one wants to be doing. My little fishing opener lake got 9 inches last night at this rate the landing will have to be plowed out...  :doah:

You may be able to leave the trailer at home Bobby. Just tie the boat to the back of your vehicle and drag it like a toboggan through the snow.

:sorry: I thought this post would be dead at this stage of the game. Unfortunately we have rain with large snow flakes falling as we speak. Air temp is 36. Yesterday I picked 180 crawlers at the woods and it was wet and cold as they were on the pavement. Today I checked the crawler condo and many never burrowed down off the surface. I'm afraid they sat out in the cold wet elements to long yesterday and were weakened beyond salvage. I threw out about 30 this morning.

Mother Nature just don't want to stop hanging on.

Just think of the bazillions of $s that would be saved and how the economy would thrive if that simple historically proven fact would be acknowledged.   :doah:   Alas, most folks can't figure out a four way stop sign so the sky falling is a real fear for them.   :puke:
