The ice is forming nicely and water clarity looks good.  Current ice report, 4 Mile Bay, 7-9", Bostic Bay, 11", Zippel Bay, 5-8".  On the lake, in front of Pine Island, 8", Zippel, 3-4" and Birch Beach, 3".  There are some cracks and areas that need more time.  Everything depends upon weather.  Some resorts may allow ATV travel after Thanksgiving.  Water is looking clear.  Some local guides have been catching walleyes.  Pike spearing going well.  Ice fishing season is shaping up nicely.  When it's time, work through resorts and follow marked ice trails.

On the Rainy River, 5" of ice in front of Timber Mill Park, in front of Baudette Bay and airport.  Some walleyes being caught in 14-18' of water evenings by locals who know ice.  Safety first.

Up at the NW Angle, 7-8" on MN side.  3-5" in current areas.  Many cracks as common this time of year.  Looking forward to this week of cold weather.  There will be ATV / snowmobile traffic after Thanksgiving.  Some NW Angle resort fish houses scheduled out Dec.10th.
