Tater mounts are up to 2 feet....when do I quit?

The corn is 6 to 8 inches tall already.
The pickles, cukes, dill and zucchini are doing good!
Already pulled some radishes....pepper, maters, kohlrabies, kale, beets are doing ok.
Peas are a little slow (we just used up last years seed, so I really didn't care if they grew)

Been a busy year so far.......

I think your good HD on the potatoes.  Now just make sure to use corny's trick and keep plucking the flowers off of them.

I quit planting spuds, but I'd also be interested in why one pluckes the flowers off. I always used the flowers as a gage to tell me the reds where ready for those small potatoes you boil up with the jacket on and smother in butter!!!!!!!

Its thought that by picking the flower the tuber will grow larger. No energy going to make seed.I never do that but if you have a few rows a tatters try picking the flowers off one row. When you dig em up compare and see what they look like. This was a oldtimers tale I think??

I've done the experiment thought the same Dew.. There is a difference.  I was told to also take a rake to the plants when they look to good.  Also seems to make bigger spuds.  BTW I grew up in the potatoe land of the red river valley . :happy1:
