9.32-Pound Smallmouth May be New Michigan State Record

Michigan angler catches what may turn out to be the new state-record smallmouth for Michigan.  :happy1:

 :coffee: .......
Greg Gasiciel had a day to remember fishing Hubbard Lake in Northeast Michigan on October 18, 2015. Gasiciel landed what might be the next state-record smallmouth bass for Michigan when he caught a 9.32-pound bass.  :doah: The fish was weighed on certified scales and pending approval of the Michigan DNR, he may have eclipsed a record that has stood for more than 100 years. The current record was caught from Long Lake in 1906 and weighed 9.25 pounds.

The fish was said to have been caught on a grub. We're still awaiting the DNR's confirmation and more information from the angler. We will update when we have more information. For now enjoy the pictures of this behemoth of a smallmouth bass. What a fishing dream come true!

Several  :Photography: of the fish here. ........
