Morning boys.  JB we only got a quarter inch of rain out of that.  It did look a lot darker up by you.  It cooled of 15 degrees here whilst it happened.  I turned off the ac and opened the windows.  An hour later the 84 degree heat and humidity was back so I turned the ac back on.  I am going to get the mower ready to go and mow today or tomorrow.  Here is a test pic of me on the WD.

Nice rig you got there Barry!  :happy1: Ever hit any smurfs with it?  :rotflmao:

Morning boys. 70 heading for a high of 75 and 80% chance of rain today. Barry looks like a brush hogging machine  :happy1:.  I finished spraying the yard last night with Talstar. Not sure if that is helps with the flies or not, but there were only a couple last night. It was also 10 degrees cooler and less humid, so not sure. Seems to me like the heat really gets them bastards fired up. I ordered another insecticide last night that says it is for the biting flies. Otherwise Reb may be right. Bee keeper suits may be needed. Well, just another day in paradise. Have a good one boys.
up at the cabin i find that this skeeter beater stuff works pretty good with the flies as well as skeeters. just takes a while to work!!!!!!

morning fellers............ be heading for red wing shortly till friday. thinking its going to get a little fiesty!!!!!!!!

Mornin' gang! 70 at choretime heading for a hi in the mid-80's. Was foggy this a.m. so the humidity is 94%. Looks like rain to the west so unless it dries up somehow before it gets here, appears we're going to get wet before the NWS forecast indicates.  Might be heavy stuff tonite so may not blast off for the great white north until morning. Still plan on getting out of doing a.m. chores tho!  :happy1:

Morning boys.  Gonna rain here it looks like too.  High of 75 so that is ok.  I would like to mow if the yard dries out soon.  They buried our internet/phone cable yesterday.  This is the third summer I have mowed around it.  Now the power guys are going to move a pole that has been in our way.  Should see them in a day or two.  Will be much easier to plow snow with it moved too.  Had an egg sandwich for breakfast that hit the spot.  SO I better get going soon and get something done around here.

I've got a timer that hooks to yer house spigot...used to use it to water the new lawn in early am then shut off. Works great! You should use one on the garden, Glenn. Actually, I'd let ya have this, 'cuz I'm such a nice guy!  :azn:

Well I just had the morning from he77.  Wasn't feeling to chipper but thought I should get the lawn mowed before it rained.  SO I fuel up the lawn mower and checked the oil.  Since I changed oil it is just a hair low so gave it a shot of oil.  SO then I get on the mower, drive out of the garage and darn it is sprinkling already.  Not hard so I kept going.  Then I thought I smelled oil and looked back, I didn't put the fricking dip stick back in.  IT WAS OIL SPRINKLING ON ME!!!   I hate when that happens.  SO I put more oil in and continued mowing with oil on the back of my neck, it wasn't pretty.  Well I got done just as it started raining water on me.  I took a shower and then went out and drenched the mower with a strong Dawn solution and some degreaser I had.  Now I am letting the rain wash it off.  It is going to all be better now for the rest of the day I hope.

O crap....don'tcha hate it when that happens?!  :rotflmao:  That sucks, doesn't it? Not that I'd know.... :whistling:  Other year changed oil on the big snowblower, and fogged the cylinder for the Summer. I always crank it over a few times then to distribute the fogging oil.
Just don't lean yer face over the engine, with oil cap off, and hit the electric start... :doah:

Dawn does a good job of oil cleanup. On yerself too.  :rotflmao:
Hope the rest of day is a good one for ya!

sprinklers waste to much water. City water bill is spendy.  I save rain water and use that by hand watering some stuff.  I use a hose to hit all the other stuff. Rain is free and gets everything.

Geez, here I though I had it bad fighting the potato bugs.  Lots of stuff to deal with here.  Better to leave the dip stick out than the oil plug.   :rotflmao:
I have a well so basically pay for the electricity and eventually the pump when it goes bad.  Was hotter than haities fishing yesterday evening.  Fished from 5 - 8:30.  Water was 88 degrees and slimey.  Lots of dead floating vegetation.  Had to pull crap off the line after every cast.  Hard to believe fish were in 3-4 feet of 88 degree solid slop.

Just think, yer 'tater bugs might get baked to death here!  :azn: It is hard to believe the fish wren't in the deep stuff....odd. Fishing this time of year can be more of a pain than it is fun, sometimes. That's why I like Fall fishing the best.

Rochester water is 89 cents per unit.  A unit is about 800 gallons.  So for me, saving rainwater to carry to the flowers is about 0.2 cents per bucket.
