Mornin all, we had 47* early & it might hit 70*, they're sayin. I got the new mower all ready for the next go 'round but the old 1 could use a little more TLC. We did manage to check into the issue with the brakes on that 1 though & think I got that figured out. I think we may check into the Sis's paddleboat project today if'n we can figure how to keep the skeets at bay. May havta pull it in the garage. Nice to see the sun & a little warmer temps so I may try to get out :fishing: for a bit again today. I thought  I heard the wind is 'sposed kick in again, so we'll see. have a good Monday gang! :happy1:

Morning boys. 47* here again this morning heading for mid 60s today and some rain too the way it sounds. Barry, do you spray your pasture with anything to keep the biting black flies down. We need to do something in our yard. I am going to try some Talstar. If that don't help the flies it should help cut down the skeets. The black flies can get miserable when the heat starts to kick in here. Just another day in paradise. Have a good one boys.

Morning boys.  Once a week we get sprayed by the city for mosquites.  I spray the horses with a spray that I mix also.  I have two round bales left that I will burn too so they can hide in the smoke.  You can tell they don't spend as much time in the barn hiding from the bugs.  I got all of the Burdoc sprayed yesterday.  Also trimmed some of the trees along the driveway.  I am going to cut some of them down too.  Any minute a buddy is dropping his 20' Alaskan off so I can put his new locator in it.  We do the Take A Kids Fishing thing every year so will have it ready for that next week.  That is why I am on here so early.  Looking like rain this afternoon.

Did get my 1st walleye of the season though , must've been 4-5" long tops, & he was just 20-30 yds out in front of our dock. Sounds like bfast is ready so I better roll. Have agood 1

Nobody  :fish2: wanted to come out & play. We all went to town yday & I'm likin Tuesdays for shopping as only L & M was very busy. :happy1: I need to move the lift into a little more water today & want to put the new hose on our homemade dock gas cart we have. The old hose has seen too much sun. With some luck neither of those things should take too long. After that we'll see  Hope your Wednesday's a good un.

Morning boys.  Man it is a nice morning.  The roofers are here shingling my roof.  Sounds like an army up there.  Gonna take 3 or 4 days I guess and they will fix anything they find that needs fixing.  Good guys.  I've been putting it off for a few years and decided that no way am I going to do it myself. Gonna be about 19-20 squares.  Got my buddies Lowrance HD-7 installed yesterday.  Went easy.  Now I have to read up on it so I can help him dial it in.  Just the basics should do.  Asparagus are still coming up.  I have been saving the stalks and freezing them.  I found some recipes for Asparagus soup that sounds good.  Going to cut some brush today and a little mowing is left to do.  Have a good one.

Mornin' gang! 54 at choretime heading for a hi in the upper 60's. Rainfall between yesterday and overnite at the ranch tallied ,37", garnering .40" in Bugtussle proper. A little tacky just yet to go tear around in the fields. Still trying to play catch up after a break in here a couple weeks ago. Someone shot a window out with a pellet gun, then climbed in the window and swiped a bunch of strange items. Initially the only things they took were one guy's older laptop and a clipboard. Come to find out they also took an address book containing passwords and a Cabelas made in China knife out of my desk drawer. The address book didn't contain anything real sensitive so no biggy but still a PITA. Based on the weird stuff they took appears it was kids and dumb ones at that. There's been a rash of vandalism & break ins going on around town so everyone is on high alert. A lot of game cameras have been tucked away in strategic locations. Reputedly they've caused enough $ in damage around town now that they're into the felony category. Hopefully they get caught soon and receive an expenses paid trip to the detention center.

Good Morning.  Well changed over my rods for panfish and trout trolling for a trip to Grindstone with my wife and daughter.  Crappies should be in spawning by now.  They are always late in this lake plus the cold spring we have had.  Trout should still be on top and should be till July.  Getting my boat ready also.  good luck.

That sounds great RH.  I know you catch trout there too.  I have known about Grindstone for years but have never fished it.  I used to fish Square Lake by Stillwater that had trout and salmon in it.  Tiny lake.  I loved catching them.  Is there a campgrounds or a motel near there?  Man Dotch I hope they catch them.  Interesting what they took.  Would be fun as heck to catch them on a trail cam.

There are motels near there plus Hinkley Casino 10 miles away.  June is the best month for crappies in the shallows and trout on the surface [caught by trolling small spoons].  After that a downrigger is needed for trout.  But then the big smallmouth are in the shallows and in the fall the big pike and smallmouth  are back in the shallows. good luck.  Ya, cameras can do wonders around your property.  good luck.

Morning boys. 47* heading for a high of 71* today. Dotch I hope to that the little thieves are and get there time in the klink! Notice this morning that our bird feeder has a lean to it. Our favorite yogi must have been back last night. Noticed teeth marks in the feeder also. Not much else here, just another day in paradise. Have a good one boys.

Mornin guys, had 43* when I went out :fishing:, think they're talkin 75* for us today. Finally found some hungry :fish2: last night & they were agressive. I missed 3, maybe 4, but managed 3 for the box. :happy1: Had 3 more tuggin at my bait this am & only 1 got my bait. A lot brighter today, less wind too, lookin like we have a bug hatch startin up to me too. :pouty: We moved the lift out 3' + yday & now it's a stretch to get from the dock to the lift, so we'll probably be doin some dock adjustin today. Water's still a bit on the chilly side, seen 64* surface temps today, so I'll be slippin the waders back on. That's it for today, have a good 1

Morning boys.  The guys are up on the roof yet.  Man I am so glad I didn't attempt this job.  They know what they are doing.  They did find a soft spot in the wood and replaced that too.  A big part of the roof on the north side didn't even have tar paper under the shingles so water got to the wood there. Got ta go to town today.  Always a fun adventure.  I see other retired people in the grocery store during the day so get some socializing in too.  LOL  Well you all have a good day.

Mornin' gang! 48 at choretime heading for a hi near 70. Got down to 41 at the Waseca airport. Heard they had 29 at Hibbing. Brrrrrrr! I can't imagine having bears messing with the bird feeders JB. Bad enough feeding all the unwanted house sparrows.  Car club event again tonite, this time at the local care center. Gotta dust the car off and clean up a bit first. Glad you had someone else do your roof too Barry. Falling off of them is overrated.  :bonk:

Good morning.  Yep,  I'm not stepping on my roof again.  Did a few times to trim tree branches touching the roof.  Had the roof replaced twice one year due to storms.  Got the lower unit grease changed yesterday and put new washers on the screws.  Changed the oil last fall when I put the boat to bed.  Putting the two trolling batteries in today and start her up again and let her run awhile.  Cut the back yard grass today.  Got rained on after I finished the front a couple of days age.  good luck.

Allen Olson from the Carp area is doing it JB.  He loves roofing and has a good helper.  He just turned 76 and is still going strong.  He is a short guy so has the right body style for roofing.  Good guy.
