Mornin all, back in Ia just a few minutes ago. We've got 35* & headed for around 40*. Sounds like there's some light rain/freezing rain/ snow in the overnight forecast. The Hawks/Gophers game is at the top of my list today otherwise not much pressing. have a good day! :happy1:

 Not so sure about that, Reb. Just heard all the experts on College Gameday pick the Gophers & they're about as accurate as your weather buddies. Like the Vikes game on Monday night when they all picked the Cowboys. :doah: :bonk:

Mornin' gang! 35 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 30's. .13" of precip as rain in the overnite at the ranch. Yup, tough loss against IA. Congrats to them. Thought we might pull it out in the 2nd half. The Gophers team is still a miracle considering all the turmoil the program went thru. Hope they rebound and use Northwestern as a punching bag then brutalize Bucky to keep the axe. And there's always next year with IA. We WILL have a kicking game and be playing at home.

I don't really weigh it reb.  I can tell ya so far I have 5 packages of backstrap steaks, 1 neck roast, and I meal of the tenderloins. roughly 12 lbs of trimmings. I do weigh them because i'd like to have an idea what I want to make of them and the processing place I take it to has minimun tgrimming amounts. like 15 lbs for hot dogs and summer sausgage. 10 lbs for sticks.

I have all the muscle meat left  from the hind quarters and fron legs to trim up yet, most of that will go to jerky.

Doesn't that lean stuff like round get all dry and shrunken when you cook it in the crockpot?

well....kinda.

mom used to can it. brown it, throw it in jars and hot bath it. till she found out my brother had his all gone in 2 weeks. then we cubed it, froze it raw, then browned it and made gravy right in the fry pan.

so all done...…….. 15 lbs, 3 batches of meat for jerky based on the seasoning for 5 lb batches. and 26 lbs of trimmings for summer saugage and sticks.

but I have hopes of having to clean anudder one next week!!!!!!!!!! :happy1: :happy1: :happy1:
