Growing our spuds in five gallon buckets this year. Holes drilled in sides of buckets and then lined with landscaping fabric, with luck come fall and all we wil have to do is dump the buckets, no weeding no trenching just eating !

3" holes one in bottom of pail for drainage four around sides of pails so roots can air prune. pLant tater in bottom of pail and add dirt as the plant grows in pail till it reaches top.

what about the old stack tires for potatoes.  as they pop out of the dirt you are supposed place another tire on top and fill it with dirt.  have no idea if it works I just heard it a long time ago.

am going to try this again this year but use new tatters and place pails on wood pallets so they can drain, they were on the ground last year and I think they got plugged. I was in the hospital so much last summer they did not really get looked after like they should have

My dad tried this a few times. It worked, but didn't get near what he was expecting.
