  • "Seems like time is here and gone".....Doobie's
Well Boober, that's the only way I can get a smoky taste to my soup. Can't put it on da grill; it'll just fall thru. No way to pump smoke into it; it would splatter it all over. There is a secret to liquid smoke, ya haveta treat it like a fine Eau de Parfum. Just barely enough to enhance the natural taste, not to ovepower. I found out a long time ago that even just a few drops too much turns stuff bitter and terrible tasting. Odd.  Since some may consider ME a big fat ham, no reason to throw smoke at me; I already have gas from the soup.   :rotflmao:

Liquid smoke is just smoke.   In a bottle.   Gotta be careful with it though...

Well, smoking out the neighborhood is my specialty.  I'm not saying throw the whole  soup on reb! Next time hams are on sale pick one up , chuck some more smoke at it. Leftovers , breakfast and sandwiches are mint. Let alone the bone for soup.

Never done it myself, but on some sites like the virtualweberbullet, double smoked ham seems to be quite a thing....

Yep go easy on the wood, I usually will smoke it for an hour then let it finish.  I always put tgem in good size drip pan and carve them in the juices. And make sure it's NOT a spiral cut!!

Not mine, I'm a fisher not a hunter.   I guess I ate too much bad venison as a kid to have any interest in it now.   (Sorry, Pop)
