I'll put this here, last night my oven blew up so I used a electric roaster, toaster oven, smoker and microwave to make Easter dinner. Smoked pulled pork sandwiches with homemade South Carolina mustard BBQ sauce and regular BBQ. Roasted corn, Lima bean and roasted Brussel sprout saccotash. Also made a pork stew with the other shoulder.

I was making the Carolina sauce and all of a sudden a loud boom and a big blue flame came out of the top back of the stove. The darn stove was only about 10 years old. So I had to use what appliances I had since it was my year to have everyone over and god forbid if you change/skip your year.

No it's electric. Something shorted out in the circuit board. I had the stove top on and as soon as I turned on the oven to preheat it.... boom

I cooked a ham with orange/peach/honey glaze, mashed taters with cream and butter, fresh peas with big pearl onions I tossed in, and my seasoned butter sauce, sweet yams with brown sugar, cranberry sauce, soft tea rolls, packed it all  up, and took it to my Mom's house. Reheated it all and served them Easter dinner. What a job, but it was worth it to me. She did realize it was Easter, and knew I was coming, so she did this to surprise me. With a pile of whipped cream, too. Both from scratch. Got me pretty choked up. She can still do it at 90 years old.

Yup. She thinks it's my favorite. Didn't have the heart to tell her that her apple is!  :lipsrsealed: It was great, anyway! Haven't had a piece of pie in at least 2-3 years.

Good for you Rebs.  What a great son.  I love cherry pie but not the wifes favorite so we don't make it.  I love apple too.  Well you can feel good about your Easter contribution.

Well, I tried it...YUK! Doesn't even taste like ketchup, but it DOES have a heck of a kick. Gonna mix it with some BBQ sauce or something, won't be using it otherwise.
