OK, found them.   More of rebs fantasies.   Don't want any air in a bag for sous vide, and you certainly don't want the stuff to float.   That picture was from someone who knew nothing about sous vide, or was making a feeble attempt at humor.

Had a ring of our homemade ring bologna for supper last night.  Was great.  Also Bush's beans and mac and cheese.  Nothing like the smell of water heating up to make a guy hungry..   :rotflmao:

Yup redneck style as Del calls it.  A pot of water and my meat thermometer.  Brought it up to 170 and then slit it open and pigged out.

Thanks, Boob! Sure warmed me up after mowin' the back 40 with the gusting winds and 45*.😣

Got a beef chuck roast marinatin' and meldin' in couple Tbsp of beef bouillon, tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp seasoned salt, and a big Tbsp of Worcestershire sauce mixed with about 3/4 cup of water. That'll sit and get flipped a few times overnite before it goes into the crack pot tomorrow with some red 'taters and onyums.

Darned tootin'! I've lost ten lbs this summer, so I gotta get the winter insulation back on. Roast is the first one outta the freezer from an early fall sale.

I coulda used some soup after spending all afternoon out pokin' holes.  :sleazy: Speakin' of that, I think them neighbor ladies keepin' Reb on the run when he makes all this food are the likely culprits... :rotflmao:

And away we go. Tried something new...took roast out of the marinade, and used my injector to inject it all right back in. Tossed in some baby carrots, 'taters and onyums, sprinkled in some Rosemary and black pepper over it all, and we're set.

This had to be the best roast I've ever had! Don't know if I just picked out a perfect one or what. Past fork-tender, it literally fell apart. Did not need the knife. Did it on low for exactly six hours; was 158* when I pulled it, just barely some pink in center. Made some nice and  thick seasoned gravy outta the juices. Carrots, onions and 'taters were nice and soft. Forgot all about the croissants sitting on the stove...ate a few for dessert. *urp*
