A hot (!) tip I learned at the butcher shop: put the press in the 'fridge or freezer for a bit first then oil it... a lot less sticking. :tongue:

well in my boredom I made  a corned beef brisket today and dang did that turn out good!!!  will be good for a meal and then  the GF wants to make a hot dish out of it.   she found a recipe for it and she will make it for us then..  sounds darn good too!!

I had some center cut pig chops that were about as tender as an old boot. My jaw still aches fom chewing!  I had marinated them in lime juice and my carne asada seasoning, shoulda been melt in yer mouth :angry2:
But, it was a test...I picked them up at Walmart to see if their stuff is guaranteed great like they say. I've never bought meat at Walmart before, except the Tyson or Perdue chicken. Thought I had to try just once. Never again. They prolly weren't even pork.......... :rolleyes:

I heard there's not many cats in Rochester????

We had meatballs and gravy, made from cream of mushroom soup. I had asparagus from last spring in the freezer. Drizzled some canola oil on them in a container. Put some seasoning in them let them sit a while. Put on a baki g sheet and baked at 425 for about 25 minutes. Man that was good.

Man I love deviled eggs but maybe only made them once.  I bought a steak or two at Walmart before and they looked great and I cooked them as I always do but they were tough and tasteless.  Coincidence???  I don't know.  I do buy the ribs and stuff that is prepackaged.  Ya I need to make deviled eggs....

6 lg Hard-boiled eggs; cooled
2 Tbsp miracle whip
1 1/8 tsp mustard
1 1/2 Tbsp white vinegar
1/2 tsp horseradish sauce (or reg hradish)
1/8 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp salt
Paprika and dill weed to sprinkle on top

Halve eggs and pop yolks into bowl. Mash up with fork until fine. Add all ingrediants, mix well, and spoon into white halves. Sprinkle tops with dill weed and paprika.

Just had the burgers that I made with the burger press.  80/20 burger.  Turned out great.  Like steak burgers.  Better than the frozen burgers you can buy.
