Bow hunting updates
Last night I hunted my leased land while junior hunted around home. We suited up with camo and our stand harnesses. He went out the back door and I  jumped in the truck and drove. Once I  got there, I checked the 2 bow stands I have. One ladder stand, the squirrels ate the seat, so I  couldn't sit there. The other one, they chewed through the straps on the stepping sticks. I did have extra with me, so I got them strapped back down to the tree. After slapping a hundred skeeters, they started to leave me alone with the thermocell smoking. I  was going to take some pictures, but, the phone went dead from forgetting to charge it. I  didn't see any deer, sat till shooting hour were over. When I  got back to the truck and phone plugged back in, I  got a text from junior. He got a shot off on a mature doe, but, it jumped the string, and had a clean miss.
This morning I'm back at the lease land, but I'm fixing the ladder stand, so I  don't expect to see anything.

This was last nights view....
This is on our leased land, a few miles away from the home ranch.
We planted all rye grass in this field.
So, deer activity won't pick up till later.
Some tracks, but, I believe they are just moving through from one field to the next.
I saw one doe with fawns last night. Pretty sure they just lost their spots, so I let the doe walk.

Nice HD.  That makes me think about sitting tonight.  Hoping that something else comes here other than the doe and 2 fawns that have been here all summer.

I came out of the woods when shooting time had expired....and out in my field, I saw 10 tails waving as they ran away...  :bonk:

My son and I hunted for the first time Saturday morning and evening.  Nothing moving by either of us.  Weather was great and views were nice.

I was gonna hit the leased land tonight, but the nephew has all the kids over there tree rat hunting. One doe and 2 fawns in the field, I pulled out and now, I'm up in the homestead stand. Little late getting out, kicked 2 last years fawns out walking in.....oh well.....that's why it's called hunting.
