fired up the sleds tonight for a spin, got 94 polaris 650, no it dont have electric start. i put the back end on a jack stand to run the track a bit to loosen things. id throttle it a little to run it, the it seemed to not go back to iddle, stuck in gear so to speak, i had to hold the break to stop the track from spinning. i toom it out for a spin to see if it would work it self out. seemd to get a litt worse. if i didnt hold the break, it would just keep.going. any ideas?

It's all carb something. Start by checking to make sure your slides in the carb are not gummed up and not closing all the way. Air leaks at carb rubber boot mounts, or just a dirty gummed up carbs all together.

Did you try to adjust the idle screws at all yet?
Cooking over a open fire is all fun and games until someone losses a wiener!

First things first. Check the throttle cable first for internal ice/moisture  or kinks. Spray some lube down into it, get some heat to it (hair dryer, etc) Try it after it's been warmed up. Still have probs? Proceed with leech's advice.

Definitely one of the things leech said. Quick way to check would be to get it into a warm garage overnight and see if it still does it. if not, then you would know it is moisture.

On the side of the carb there is a set screw,It stops the carb slide from going  down to far so it idles right,Turn it out 1/2 turn at a time so the slide moves down to slow fuel intake till it idles at the required RPMs thats the idle adjustment,
You have to have the sled running to see its idle and work the throddle so the slide goes down.
You rebuilt the carbs? Sure you got the E clip on the needle in the center slot?

Edit>>If its runnun and you drive it all it is , is idle adjustment is to fast

ok, thanks dew, it was fine on a previous trip, then we got some rain,  and slush, which i did not run it in, but was outside, when i fire it up last night on the jack stand, it idled just fine till one time.i hit the throttle a bit to loosen the track, and it stuck, it came and went on the ride but eventuly just stuck.

Sounds like you need to pour 10 gallons of gas in the 6 gallon tank, light a smoke and toss the match as you walk away.  ;)
