For me it's the Bald Eagle.  One of our country's symbols of strength.  I put the bald eagle in a seperate catagory for that reason.  However as far as  the rest of our feathered friends, The Loon has been mine for years.  Love the sounds they make while I'm out fishing and camping.  Even at night their sounds are amazing and I never get tired of those sounds.  What is yours.  good luck.

I agree RH you can't be the sounds of the loons. My favorite bird are falcons, we've had a nesting pair of peregrines in the cathedral of learning at the university of Pitt and another under a bridge about a half mile from my house and a few kestrel falcons also.  The kestrels have a unique sounding call. There is nothing better than watching a falcon dive bombing a flock of pigeons, when they are successful it's nothing but poof a cloud of feathers falling out of the sky
if you kick me when I'm down you better pray I don't get up.

Ya, and try to sleep at night with them hooting & howling. $#!! Went thru that every year on June 1st, sleeping on the waters edge up in McGregor on Lake Minnewawa for the Walleye/Northern Tourney. What a racket!! They keep it up all nite long!!! (That's where my avatar pic is from...Minnewawa. First fish of the tourney...a hammer handle)

Ya Gunner, that was Glenn running out the door for summer vacation.  :rotflmao:

Love all of the above mentioned.  No cardinals up here so do miss them.  The last few years the tree swallows have come back to our two bird houses on the power poles outside the house.  They are so friendly.  I even talk to them when only a few feet from their house as they look at me.  (look at that dumb guy talking to us)   :rotflmao:  Now we really look forward to them returning.....

Love the loon and eagle also. But like LPS, I do miss the cardinal. we used to have a lot of them when we lived down by Becker. Also do like the orioles and humming birds to.
Hey look your bobber is up!
