Spring bear hunt success
« on: June 12, 2017, 09:30:41 PM »
Saskatchewan spring bear hunt complete. 9/10 in camp. Everyone had opportunity. All big boars. Mine was in the lighter end at 250lbs but I passed two larger for this chocolate! And a 250lb spring bear will have at least an extra 100 in the fall. Great hunt, glad to be home after ten days in the bush.

Highly recommended. I'll post details soon. Don't have it sitting in front of me at the moment. This is not a hunt for the guy who wants five star lodging. You cook your own meals and live in a tent for the duration.

For the money you will have a hard time beating this hunt dakids. The amount of large boars is amazing. We had 9 guys out 10 fill. 100% opportunity. The guy that didn't shoot was waiting for a true beast and passed on several big boars. All boars that will measure 18+ and would make pope and young. A couple that are 21 plus booners. 6 of the 9 were killed with stick and string. 2 rifle, and mine with the smoke pole.  And Elliot is hunting just a fraction of the area he has available. So I can't see it ever getting hunted out. Like I said, be prepared to cook for yourself and sleep in a tent for an extended period. This is not a five star resort type hunt. But be prepared to see lots of bears, close interaction with bears if you choose to hunt from the ground like I did, and an outfitter that is going to give you his best to put you on the bear your looking for, and some great fishing once you fill your tag! I caught my limit of sauger/walleye in 5 casts one day! If you want feel free to give me call any time about it. This is a trip I plan to make several more times in the years to come
