I fried my first piston today
« on: December 04, 2017, 08:53:02 PM »
:angry2:    I know better.   It's just a handheld leaf blower that I got for free because it was not running.  I put new fuel lines in it and cleaned the carburetor.  It ran like a top.  I needed it yesterday for about 10 min.  and today for about 5.  It was out of fuel yesterday so I filled it up and blew off the deck.  When I used it today it started losing power right away.  I KNOW BETTER!!  It didn't seize up but the piston is shot.  It took almost a full tank of fuel to fry the piston.  I ran it too long when it was struggling.  I finally shut it off and didn't give it a 2nd thought until I walked by the measuring cup with the synthetic oil that was supposed to have been added to the 2 gallon oil container for my small engines.     I often wondered how come this happens so often.  I don't have a wife to blame it on.  The dog and cat really can't be held accountable for not doing anything.  That is there job.  The chickens just will not admit to distracting me the moment before I was going to add the oil to the two gallon tank.    I admit it  I FRIED A PISTON TODAY!!     Not having anyone else to blame almost makes me want to get married again.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I have been gone too long and I miss it.  I can't blame Glenn because this is a non union shop.  I screwed up and I would fire myself if the dog, cat, or chickens would pick up the slack.

I'm really starting to wonder about this Glen guy.  I'm starting to think he must be the one who made my Jeep get stuck  in 1979.  Couldn't have had anything to do with the fact that I had to climb out the window because the mud was sucking the doors shut.  It only took a small buldozer and three logging chains to get it out.......

:angry2:    Sorry I brought it up.   (Me being careless and frying a leaf blower piston).  I hope to be checking in more often.  A lot of you new guys don't know me and that's my fault.  This thread has gone a wee bit off topic and a certain picture need to go away.   I did replace that picture and clearly states at the bottom that it was edited by me.  I replace the previous picture with a fried piston so everyone knows what the topic was.  It was also me that made a what I thought a was a union joke.  I guess the  days of union jokes have gone the way of the Twinky.    :doah:

Back on topic..  Anyone else forget to add oil in their gas for a two cycle..  If so how long did it run?                                                      /

I didn't lock it up.  At least I didn't mean to.   I started the post and feel responsible for the way it was going.  I did change the picture and am all for open forums but we all have to remember it is open to young people, women, and in betweens.  Everybody is welcome to view the open forums.
