Wife puts her touch on my "shed"
« on: July 25, 2018, 11:25:38 AM »
So, this is what you get when you bring your wife along to "help" build a shed/biffy/shower in the woods.
Barn door to biff, shabby chic walls, flowers etc.  Now, I just need to find a place to put my stuff.

Good one there, dew2.  Fridge would just be a plant holder as there is no power.  I have one wall left to do.  My buddy is sawing some lumber on my land so he is going to make me some boards for the last wall.

We are on constant lookout for buckthorn.  Every stem we see gets pulled or poisoned.  Now, I do have some iron wood that may work.

Not yet.  :rotflmao:

Here's a look at some of the boards my friend has cut on my land for me.  I currently have them stickered under my lean to for drying.
They will go on one wall and the ceiling.  These are from white ash trees.

Done at last, the best "shed" around.  My wife and I went to the land to finish the shed I built last year.  The boards that my friend cut last fall dried all winter and were ready to be installed on the ceiling and wall.  Yesterday and Thursday were two very wonderful days at the camp near and deer.  No rain, just warm sunshine and a gentle breeze.

That's great DE.  Was it easy to nail?  I made a gun cabinet in shop when I was in 8th grade.  Turned out good for a young kid.  But the ash I used was so hard I had to pre-drill holes for screws or they twisted right off.  Too small of a bit and they still twisted off.  Had to use the right size bit.  I like ash wood.

Sure burns nice. Other than for baseball bats, one doesn't see ash used all that often. It sure looks great deadeye!  :happy1:

I used a brad nailer.  Worked fine and I doubt any boards will fall off the wall.  At least I hope so.  Not sure if we will seal the boards or just leave them.  My buddy made quite a bit of lumber last year.  He cut mostly black ash but some white ash as well.  He makes some really great stuff with it.
