Just a little too far south I'm afraid del. Mayo has everything pretty well sewn up until you get north a little further to Faribault where Allina has a facility. That's 40 miles. West past Mankato then you get into Sanford territory which is competitive.

That will teach me to look at the map to refresh my memory .....

But it is all about the titanic struggle between government and insurance companies on one side and medical providers on the other side.

And us poor losers caught in the middle....

https://kttc.com/news/2019/09/19/minnesota-veterans-referral-denied-by-mayo-clinic/

VA screwup switching to new programs from old programs, and Mayo and Olmsted  wound up out of network for at least the time being.   The new program is just going into effect.   Sept 30?

It has been pointed out on other boards that the reporter and the subject did not understand the VA programs.   Looked like an attempt at Mau Mauing.   Or just a cascade of ignorance.

Btw the person on the other board (nextdoor.com) was not a mayo fan either.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota’s attorney general’s office says it has charged 11 people with defrauding the state’s Medicaid program of more than $800,000.

Attorney General Keith Ellison said in a statement Friday that the charges involve nine different cases. The announcement comes on the heels of an investigation into a northern Minnesota care center that bilked Medicaid out of nearly $2.2 million.

Among those charged Friday were 33-year-old Kaldeq Yusuf, of Hopkins, and 39-year-old Abdifatah Ali, of Eagan, who owned and managed Diversity Home Health Care, Inc. Also charged was Abdulahoi Yousof, age unknown. The company allegedly received over $400,000 in a scheme that involved stealing the identities of numerous personal care assistant agencies in order to bill for services that were not completed, as well as unlawful kickback agreements and outright theft.

Court documents do not list any attorneys for Yusuf and Ali.

No! Not in the #1 city!

15-year-old girl gets punched in face by man Saturday night

(ABC 6 News) - Rochester Police are investigating a large fight that allegedly broke out downtown Saturday.

Police were called to the 200 block of 1st Avenue SW just before 9 p.m. following a party at China Hall.

A witness told police a man who was kicked out of the party earlier in the night because he was “causing problems” came back into the party and punched a 15-year-old girl in the face.

The victim’s friend came over to intervene, and the man allegedly said he was going back to his car to “grab a pipe and blow” the girl down, which caused them to believe he meant to grab a gun and come back and confront them.

The man allegedly went to a car to grab something which people believed to be a gun, but police said no shots were fired and no shell casings were found.

Around the same time, the man went to grab something from the car, a separate incident occurred and a car was reportedly damaged by a gang of people.

At this point, police were called again, but everyone was gone by the time they arrived. Police said one was arrested and the incidents are under investigation.
