And yet another...... :doah:

https://www.businessinsider.com/salad-recall-foods-to-avoid-expert-says-2018-10

2800 pounds of salad?  from 4 companies and 4 retail chains?   What's that, a bag per store?    Gotta be something in error in the story.
And throwing in the California Hepatitis A outbreak of last year?   That came from the homeless not washing their hands and not properly disposing of their waste products.   Had absolutely nothing to do with food products.

Who writes this stuff?

Those Fake News guys? Actually, it would work out to 11.42 bags per store... I'm still leery after being bunghole bob for a week after Fareway's chicken salad debacle.  :doah:
Gotta have the hype in all facets of life, though....Go get 'em, Del.  :happy1:

well, there are 474 trader joes, and 479 whole foods, and a whole lot more wally worlds.  So, one salad per store?

Can't even have a bowl of Honey Smacks anymore!  Barry take note!!  :doah: Notice they have moved them to a "Kellogg's facility"....Just where WERE they making these...in India, with water from the Ganges???!?!?!

Honey Smacks returns to shelves with new recipe after recall

October 23, 2018

NATIONAL NEWS FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) — Kellogg’s Honey Smacks is returning to shelves following a voluntarily recall after salmonella infected 100 people in 33 states.

The company announced on Monday the cereal will return next month in limited quantities with “a simpler, updated recipe.” The company says production was moved to a “trusted and tested Kellogg-owned facility that has been reliably producing cereal for decades.”

The recall was issued in June. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said at least 30 of the people infected in the outbreak were hospitalized.

Salmonella usually causes fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

Personally, I liked this one....
https://www.foodsafetynews.com/2018/10/mccain-foods-usa-expands-recall-to-all-products-it-makes-at-colton-ca-facility/

"McCain Foods USA’s last embarrassing recall moments came in April 2017 when it took certain Roundy’s, Harris Teeter, and Southern Style hash browns off the market for containing “extraneous golf ball materials.”  It seems golf balls were “inadvertently harvested” with the potatoes used to make the hash browns.  The result was a choking hazard that gave McCain more unwanted publicity than most recalls do."

I could see how it could happen. We used to get hay in big squares that came from a field by the golf course. Every year we'd find a few golf balls in the bales. With sheep it was no big deal but with cattle it could be more problematic. In spuds it would likely be tough to get them all sorted out.

When I worked at the butcher shop when I was a pupster, we'd grind 40 lb frozen blocks of trim to add to the ground beef to get it to specified fat percentage. Often found nails, chunks of wire....and bullets in the meat. Ya, bullet slugs..!
