Is that a Strikemaster HD?  I will be redrilling holes most of the time.  I may even just get a lighter gas auger.  I see Eskimo does not make a 9".  There out of the picture.

Yup Barry, it's a Strike Master..... I'm a run and gunn'er. I have a flip over that I use more as a sled than a fish house. I drill a ton of holes in a short period of time, and move around a lot.

With that said, they don't work well for redrilling holes and they don't have a 9 inch.

Build this, HD, and ya can REALLY run'n gun and swiss cheese the whole lake!!! ;)

That's why I really can't help.
If you wanted a lightweight auger to drill a bunch of holes, fast, I would recommend a Lazer.
For the fish house folks, Boar or G would know better.
 :sorry:

Keep in mind Jb, that an ION replacement lithium battery runs anywhere from 130-$190....and the tranny gears are nylon. Just not what I care for, but whatever works for ya. Worked on a LOT of augers over the years.

I did not know that Rebs about the gears. The only reason I am leaning towards the ion is for reopening holes in the fish house. The strikemaster lazer sucks for reopening holes. I hear you to Boar, the thicker the ice gets the more torque you get out of the 10". Gas or electric. I just like the 10" in the permy because it gives more room for the transducer in the hole. I wish strikemaster made a twin blade that is good at reopening holes.
Hey look your bobber is up!

The Jiffy I am getting says it has serrated blades that last much longer and are great for re drilling holes.     We shall see.  $599 here in town.

It says it has a usb port on the battery.  That would be nice to keep my phone charged whilst in the house listening to tunes and Vikes winning conversations.  AND it is 6 amp.  Looks like the others are 5 amp I think.

I am charging it now and there is not one there.  You are right Dotch.  BUT on the Jiffy site it says "integrated USB charging port".  Either it is an older or newer model year than mine.

You have it plugged in to charge? I imagines THAT's the USB they are talking about...where the batt/cord plugs in...

It says on the Jiffy site it says it has an 'integrated charging port"  On one of their sites I just looked at it does say to charge phones etc.  I called them but they close at 3 so I left an email to them.  Darn. :angry2:  It is on the Cabelas site that explains the USB as for charging phones and other small electronic devices.

Hi Rebs.  Just got back from the wifes company Christmas Party.  I used to work there too so it is all my friends too.  Was a hoot.  I told her I had to check in to see if my friend Rebs found out anything as he is a curious guy too.  :happy1: Look at the writing about it not the video.  And every thing on the other sites say USB too.  As in to charge phones and run small things.  Hhmmm...

You 2 got me goin, so I did some looking earlier this am & didn't find much. So I googled it, "usb port on jiffy propane auger", &  it led me to "jiffyonice.com/Service-Support". Is it a E6 Lightning, Model 56? If it is there was 1 of those at the top of the search page that had integrated USB port highlighted. That led me to a spot where you could sign in & email the company directly. Just a thought.

Exactly what I did too, Gunner. All the sites say it has the port...I even looked at the replacement  battery for it, and thats where it says the port is.  I gotta get to a store today and take a looksee....unless Barry unravels the mystery!

:rotflmao: :rotflmao:  You guys are great!  I pushed and felt around for a secret opening and pushed on labels in case they covered it up and I don't see it anywhere.  I went to their facebook page and made a comment about the USB port and it disappeared as a we will review your comment and it never came back up.  SO I mentioned it on a post below that and it is still there.  I did leave a message at the Jiffy headquarters.  Will see if they respond to me.  I also left an email to them.  BUT I got the fishhouse out yesterday and what a smooth auger.  I couldn't be more happy with it.  It turns slower than a gas one and cuts great.  Then I lowered it down a little and hit the reverse and it cleaned the ice out of the hole great!!!  That worked  better than I thought it would.  I love it.  Wish it had a USB Port..    :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :happy1: :happy1:
