Biz Buzz: Gander Outdoors opening moves closer.  Gander Outdoors is primed for a spring opening, officials noted Friday, March 22.

 :coffee:....
The building and parking lot have now had a facelift with a new branding and new signs up all around. A sign on the store doors notes they are hiring employees and opening soon. Contacting the corporate office didn't get a specific opening date beyond noting spring. But it certainly looks much closer to becoming a reality after a long and much anticipated rebranding and new opening. A prospective customer was drawn to the store Friday afternoon hoping it would be open already. A little more patience is in order.

  ...
New signs are up at Gander Outdoors in Baxter. The store is now hiring for employees. The company reports an opening date is expected this spring, but no official date was being released yet.

Hope the new owner comes up with a way to keep it going, like lowing their prices may be?    :coffee:

they are sparse stores... camping world bought the failing gander as you know... expect more camping/rv and boating things.

Overtons was part of the original GM & still is. They are almost all boating, I see by their website that a lot of the new GO stores carry a "Overtons Assortment" already. Didn't think there was any Overtons around here but they had 1 in Rogers listed.

I used to order stuff from Overton's for my boat. Unless it's a sale price, they are spendy, but do have some boating items that are hard to find.

Same here Reb. A couple sets of guides for our & Sis's trailers for Christmas & they were both pretty good deals on sale. :happy1: Quite a bit cheaper than Cabela's was.

Yep ! I used ta buy a lot of stuff from Overton's catalog. Also got a lot of free shipping offers.
Always got email's every week wit sales promotions.

Every time I go ta our Gander/Bass Pro store I walk out frustrated because day ain't got dis and ain't got dat!  Da only time I go there any more is ta get my non- res  Wis. fishing license. Den day say we can order yer  product from da catalogue fur ya. Free shipping if ya pick it up at da store when it comes in.

Forget it! It's a 1/2 hr drive each way :bonk: It costs as much as da shipping wit da gas I used.
