Here is the locator I got with our pontoon boat.  I had one of these 20 or 30 years ago.  I had to rig up a bracket to mount it.  Works great and you know it is kind of refreshing to just go back to the basics.

I got a couple of them old Eagles. I liked them for what they did.

I just replaced one on the river boat. Cause, I troll a lot and like to know speed.

That an't nutten.  This was on a used boat I bought 30 years ago. Suked when the paper roll ran out on a hot spot!  :mad1:

I loved the burning electrical smell coming from it when slow trolling!  :smoking:

This is the "Hook" with the gps function. The screen is very comparable with the Eagle, only 4 inches. So, don't expect it to be as large as the regular Lowrance.
It does NOT have maps, but you can use it for navigation plotting your course. The only reason I got it was to show speed, and checking it with my cell phone...it's pretty accurate.

This the "cheap" model at $100, I got it off ebay.

You can get a lesser "Hook" model for around $85 if you don't want the gps function.

Sorry to hijack your thread LPS......

Me too! Mine is a portable unit with the transducer attached by a suction cup bracket. Rigged it with a fused trailer harness & battery charger clips to be able to use it on different boats. Think  mine was new in '84.

I remember my first locator was a Hummingbird back in the 80's.  A buddy and I bought it together.  I put the transducer on a 1 x 2 and used a C clamp to hold it to the transom.  We too had clamps to connect to the battery.  Opened a whole new world.
