Police release cause of death in fatal Crookston river crash.

 :reporter; Jun 11, 2019 at 5:02 p.m.

CROOKSTON, Minn. Authorities released new information about the death of a girl whose body was found in a submerged vehicle in the Red Lake River Wednesday, June 5.

 :coffee: ....
The 16-year-old girl drowned after the vehicle she was in went into the water, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. The vehicle was spotted in the river near downtown Crookston at about 4:40 p.m. and was completely underwater shortly after an officer arrived on the scene.

  ....
The Crookston Fire Department sent a boat on the river to locate the vehicle and were able to find it with the help of a drone. Divers from the Grand Forks County Water Rescue Unit were later able to locate and retrieve the girl's body from the vehicle.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office said it transported the body to the University of North Dakota medical examiner's office in Grand Forks.

Authorities said it is still uncertain what caused the vehicle to end up in the river but said foul play is not suspected.

We heard this a few days ago.  So sad someone died and I respect that completely but why did she end in the water in the first place?  Such as did another driver force her to make that decision or not?  Very curious about it.
