My brother and I have fished this lake and others around Duluth since high school and to this day.  Rice Lake near Duluth is a large shallow lake full of boulders so unless you know where to go it's not a place you just go full speed.  They have a notice about that at the landing.  Fishing was slow and the lake had more weeds than normal.  So we just fished the edges of the weeds and we came up with some walleye's and even a largemouth.  Enough for a meal and that's good enough.  good luck.

Any nice, slow day of fishing I'll take, unless it's hot out.  :happy1:
