Ya I was curious about homemade garlic or onion powder.   I use lots of garlic and onion powder.

Yup, I seen that too. It was a article that I read. The recipe sounds good, but I would just use the bottled stuff myself.

For venison or elk, my dad put me onto this years ago.

Olive oil and soy sauce. Mix 2 equal parts, it doesn't like to mix, it's like an oil/water thing. It will mix though, it gets beady, then finally blends similar to A1 sauce. You have to whip it with a whisp or a fork.

Marinate steak cuts with this olive oil/soy sauce mix for a day or so in zip lock bags in the fridge.

Hit em fairly hot on the grill, don't cook them too slow or they will dry out.

This is fantastic on elk, not too shabby for venison either.

Venison Breakfast Sausage


Ingredients

– 6 lbs. ground venison

– 3 lbs. lean ground pork

– 3 Tbsp. salt

– ¼ tsp. ground red pepper

– ¼ tsp. red pepper flakes

– 1½ Tbsp. black pepper

– 1½ Tbsp. ground sage

– 1 tsp. anise seed

– 1 tsp. nutmeg

– 2 tsp. sugar


Directions

Mix well and pass through a grinder twice.
