LAKE OF THE WOODS ?Area Tourism Bureau, Jane, near junction of Hwy 11 and Hwy 172 in Baudette (1-800-382-FISH) The 10th Annual Ice-Out Trophy Pike Tournament on Zippel Bay was a tremendous success! 82 teams competed for the cash and trophy prizes. A total of $4,001. was available for the purse. Over 600 fish were weighed in which brought the average boat catch way above normal. Here are the top three winning teams: 1st Place, Nick Hemmesch/Darren Rothstein, Richmond, MN, 39 lbs. 14oz.; 2nd Place Gary Hemmesch/Scott Schmidt, Payneville, MN, 37lbs. 05 oz.; 3rd Place Brian Benson/Shannon Closen, TwinValley, MN, 34lbs. 01oz.
