I just read that the Bills are at the Rams tonight at 7:20 Rams have some injuries so Bills are favored by 2.5.
-
Goona be doing some channel flipping for sure. I hope there is a reason to stick with the Twins.
-
Gee I wonder if the will set the thermostat at 78 and play in the dark??? :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Fun game yesterday. Our next game is next Monday night at 7:30 at the Eagles. Will have to take a nap for sure to stay up for that one.
-
That's the best Erin's looked during a Viking's game to me in a long time. ;) Especially, when they showed him on the bench after they'd had the ball a couple times in the 2nd half. :happy1:
-
I watched the Broncos Seahawks game last night. What a slug fest that was. Seattle turned them back at the goal line and were pretty darn tough. 17-16 Seahawks. Gino Smith did good.

Those Seahawk uniforms though! To bad they didn't learn something from Tampa Gay! :bonk:

Ya Leech, they are hard to keep looking at.

... Gino Smith did good.
Quite a few Re-Tread QBs seeming to be making good on their second (or third) chances: Smith, Mitch Trubisky, Baker Mayfield, Carson Wentz.

TAMPA, FL — After her divorce with Tom Brady becomes finalized, supermodel Gisele Bundchen is expected to own three times as many Super Bowl rings as legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
"Gosh, that can't be right," said Ms. Bundchen. "I'm just a model, while he is supposedly one of the best quarterbacks ever. How could I possibly wind up with three times as many rings as Aaron Rodgers?? I'll have to call and ask Aaron again how many rings he has."
Despite only taking three of Mr. Brady's seven Super Bowl rings, Ms. Bundchen discovered from her phone call that she indeed had far surpassed the Green Bay hero. "Yes, Gisele, I really only have one ring. Yes, I know that's very surprising," said Mr. Rodgers grimly. "No, I really don't think I need to count my collection again. Thanks, Gisele."
The sports world has been reeling ever since news broke of Mr. Brady's divorce. "I guess Gisele was just looking for someone better-looking and more successful than Tom," said former teammate Rob Gronkowski. "Man, I just can't wait for Tom to officially be single. Tom is so kind, so generous, and you would not believe how fit he still is. His eyes still sparkle and - wait, what was I talking about?"
At publishing time, reporters spotted Gisele with her new boyfriend Steve, a middle-aged insurance salesman from Indiana.

That may be the "official" reason, but if she REALLY loved the guy and was committed to the marriage, she'd stick it out. She'd be pissed, but I would think she would gut it out for one more year - even if he said last year was the last year and lied.
I think she was just ready to be done with the marriage and was ready to move on and we may never know her real motivation. Sure, all the reasons she gave are part of it, but I doubt it was the biggest part. That she is keeping to herself.
...Just my opinion.
-
Ya she is probably tired of the whole deal including football which I am sure is constant even in the offseason to a high achiever like him. He may be tired of her crap too. Maybe that is why he is playing. Just to piss her off. :sleazy: Personally I don't think she is that hot anyway. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Yeah... won't be hard for Tom to get a date. Still, I feel bad for the guy if he still wants to stay married.

True!

I can't believe he friggin bailed on Bridget Monahan.
Now that woman is still hot stuff!! :sleazy: :wowza: and better looking then Giselle in my opinion.

:tut: I'm not going to bet against the #15/#87 combo very often myself. They scored enough, 4 TDs, by themselves to win a lot of NFL games. Besides, Andy Reid has the Raider's #.

No, no, no. There are far to many reviews as it is. Let the players play, they will sort things out. Rough my quarterback....I'll chop block your tight end or decapitate your wide receiver.

But THAT would tarnish Roger's shield & might eventually cut into the $255 mil/year each team now gets for their share of the TV rights. :tut:
-
The 1 play/call that can completely change the outcome of the game & they don't feel they need to review it to make sure they get it right is ridiculous IMO.:doah: I believe the refs & the league will get enough bad press from this that they will eventually be forced to start looking at it.
-
What about the top dogs watching from New York or wherever chiming in and over turning it.
-
I've always hated the notion that some things are not reviewable. The point of replay is to review egregiously bad plays and get them right. The fact that any call that changes the outcome of the game cannot be reviewed is bogus.
If the coach had a challenge left, let him throw the flag for roughing the passer.

They said it is the first time Brady has been under .500 since 2002. Time for him and Erin to say goodbye.

Anybody watching Sunday night football?! Hot damn that Carrie Underwood is 🔥!! :wowza:
-
I just said the same thing......that woman is gorgeous.
But I kinda like Faith Hill's version better. "Waiten all day for Sunday Night."
-

 Poor Erin .......................... it wasn't a very good look for him to be lying face down in the turf at the end of that last play yday. :happy1:  ;)

i seen where the packers/bills game is the sunday nite game. its gonna be fun watching the bills crush the packers.......i might even stay up till the fat lady sings!!!!!!!!! :happy1: :rotflmao:
-
It would be so great if we can take care of the Cards and see Erin get his azz kicked. Man he would be twitching then. lol
-
If the Bills come out firing on all cylinders it could be a "Love" fest midway in the 3rd.
I think in this devisive world we all agree wanting to see Erin get stomped.
-

yea the vikings game has be a bit concerned............. :doah: the vikings have always had issues with QB's that can scramble, run like Murray!!!! :doah: :embarrassed:

Yes and playing after bye weeks kind of scares me too. Have to get the mojo all back. Dutch, I didn't even think about them playing Love. Would like to see how that goes too if it happens.

Wow the Browns wailed on the Bengals. That surprises me.

flipped it there once or twice........i was watching Bones!!!!!! :sleazy: :sleazy:some cuties on that show. and i like David Boaranse as an actor!!!! :happy1:

I just read that Adam Zimmer 38 died. No word on what happened.

Thats a sad deal.

That was a fun game to watch from Germany.
TB12 is the first QB to win 3 NFL games in 3 different countries.
But he was 3 pass attempts from breaking Erins record of pass attempts without an Int!
-
...And happy to see the Pack beat Dallas. Hard to pick which team I'd rather see lose in this one.
I'd like to see the Pack to get just enough losses to miss the playoffs, but not so many to get a really high draft choice when they draft Erin's replacement in the first round. ;) :rotflmao: :bonk:

Agreed, as long ask one of their wins isn’t when they play the Vikings.
-
Looks like there are no longer any undefeated teams in the NFL ! Washington took down the eagles!
-
The Eagles hardly had the ball & had 4 TOs. Washington's defense is tough, I'm glad we don't have to play them again.

watched it a little bit.......on one turnover the refs missed a very obvious flagrant face mask call on Washington. musts been the same ones that did the Vikings games......not sure how they missed that one!!!!!!!! tat defensive guy really ripped that ball carriers head around!!!!!
-
Good job Taylor Heinike. He is a scrapper. Sure hope we don't have to go to craphole Philly in the playoffs. This will help. Hoping GB doesn't get enough wins to get a wild card slot.
-
Poor Erin ;) ,.......................he didn't look very happy last night again.  Lambeau was 'bout as quiet as I've ever heard it in the 2nd half last night too.

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: 27-17 Titans kicked Erins azz. :happy1:

Time for Packers to Consider Future as Aaron Rodgers Falters on TNF vs. Titans (https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10056031-time-for-packers-to-consider-future-as-aaron-rodgers-falters-on-tnf-vs-titans)
Whatever the reason, the Packers are left with a lot of uncertainty at quarterback.
Rodgers' contract is part of the problem. He'll have $99.8 million in dead money remaining on his deal after this season, so cutting him isn't an option. Trading him could prove extremely difficult, too, given his inconsistent play.
Either Erin figures out how to carry his team to the promised land with lower-paid skill players or they are screwed for the next several years. Prolly the best outcome is for them to let Erin continue to degrade this season - AND the next two seasons as well - and rebuild with young drafted players. After Erin's $50Mil / year salary comes off the books, they can bring in free agents to go along with what should be a strong, new, young nucleus. Who knows, maybe this was their plan all along.
-
Packers are playing for draft position now. Probably won't be getting all these national prime time games for awhile. :happy1: :happy1: :happy1:
-
Erin is another Hall of Famer who didn't know when to quit. He could have gone out on top, but his pride and his competitive spirit wouldn't let him do it.
Trouble is (and unlike Brady), when Erin signed that $150M contract extension, he wasn't thinking about competing against the NFC North Division. He was more worried about measuring weenies against the other elite-caliber, high-paid quarterbacks in the league.
Three years of sucking with the Packers will tarnish his legacy a bit - and who knows - he might catch lightning in a bottle for a game or two - but he'll be :rotflmao: all the way to the bank.
-
They really screwed up giving him that kind of money. Should have let him walk and started over. Now they are stuck with him and he has their money.
-
Yea, i agree, leaving with a stink from a caree that made him a household name. Made juat as much money from endorsements.
-
 I was really surprised to hear him pretty much blame himself after Thursday's game. He admitted that he had at least 3-4 deeper throws in the 2nd 1/2 that weren't very good & that those could've been big plays, if he'd made better throws.
-
Maybe after catching grief for blaming his teammates for their last three losses... he finally got the message and figured he better start saying the "right" things. :coffee:
-
 WTF... I just read the Washington team disciplined some players for drinking on there team plane after they beat the Eagles. :doofus:
There freakin adults for Christ sakes, all because some coach got busted for a whiskey ticket.. The teams apparently have sober rides if requested. What a joke.
-
NFL rules are no alcohol on the plane ride home. A rule is a rule. If it's there it should be enforced. Otherwise get rid of the rule.
-
The Titans offensive coordinator got a DWI after the game with GB.
-

as I understand it that rule was made AFTER that coach got the whiskey ticket.
Since when is the NFL able to make rules on the fly it's :bs: for individuals of age to consume. One would think the players assoc should be fighting this. Goodell has way way to much power.
Of course this is strictly my opinion.
-
The Titans offensive coordinator got a DWI after the game with GB.
He was in Green Bay. Nuthin else to do there. Just sayin'
-
Ok after further review, I guess the rule was there but completely ignored until recent events. And nothing was said or done about it until it hit the internet.
I guess it could be partially the Vikings fault :sleazy:with videos of chains around players neck! :rotflmao:
-
Andy Reids kid killed a girl driving drunk after a practice. The NFL frowns on bad publicity unless of course it brings them money. Read up on the Washington scandal's including ownership. It got to the point they couldn't bury the story any longer so to save face they are convincing Dan Snyder to fall on the sword and sell the team. These guys (NFL owners) in many cases are one step above the mafia families.
-

well let's see why you may not want a bunch of 6.5' 300lbs drunks on a confined air plane? :taz: :bonk:
-
well......then they shouldnt serve alcohol on any plane!!!!!!!
-
Anyone watching the bills... Lions game. are the Lions for real, or the Bills not really that good??
-
Lions are as real as you can be starting a backup quarterback. :rotflmao:
-
We’re used to the Lions being the Lions—not a serious contender. They’ve either not gotten off to a good start every year or imploded when things looked promising. I don’t think we can take them for granted.
-
They are pretty tough but just can't get over the hump. I was rooting for them.
-
Watching tenn and Cincy. Derrick Henry had a long run but had the ball knocked out, ended up being recovered by another titans player.
They showed Henry's stats and doesn't account for that 60 plus yards on that run??
Anyone know why??
-
Ok figured it out, it was a screen pass. Never mind!🙄 :rotflmao:

I saw a report that the Pikers are working out a new QB.
Maybe Erin is more hurt than they are letting on.
Maybe they want to see what Jordan Love can do the rest of the season and still need an emergency QB to back him up.
Erin is saying all the right things about wanting to play to the bitter end, but the fact of the matter is, the Pac has another $100M tied up in Erin - no sense sending him out there to get killed in a lost season. After all, more losses = better draft pics. ;)
-
I have been thinking about the Russell Wilson (who I have always liked) being such a bust. Hence an opening for Rodgers who must feel the lack of love (pun) in Green Bay.
-

I think it has more to do with the coaches play calling
-
:happy1: That was 1 of the 1st things Cousins said after the last game. He credited K O'C for calling a great game.
-
Carolina waives Baker Mayfield. Boy was that trade with Cleveland a huge mistake. What a letdown. Going from a first round pick, to being traded in two years, to being third best option on a bad team to being waived. Sure hope he invested his $$ well.
-
Ya I liked the commercials with his hot wife in the stadium. Maybe he would be welcome at Denver too.
-
Will the 49's try to get him? They lost Jimmy Garoppolo for the season. San Fran now has Mr. Irrelevant, Brock Purdy, final pick in the 2022 draft.
-
I just read that he asked to be released since they decided to go with the other guy for the resto of the season. Their is a list of every team and the order they have to get Mayfield on Waivers. The 49ers are way down the list. In the 20's. It is teams with the worst records are at the top of the list. I can't copy it or I would.
-

Yeah, he's an Ia St kid & went 25/37 on Sunday as SF easily beat Miami.
-
Here is a surprise. The Rams claimed Mayfield off of waivers. Makes sense.
-
Since they are in the same division.....is that because they want him or don't want the 49er's get him???
-

my best guess is cause ir sounds like Matt Stafford is probably done for the year!!!!!

:happy1: That's what the pc I seen on Mayfield said too.
-
I just watched the clips of Mayfield throwing the winning TD to win last nights game. Unreal. LOLO https://youtu.be/7JRt_wGfjfYL
-
watched that game.....dull until 3 min left in it. Good show for Mayfield. Especially with only 1 practice to learn the offense.
-
HEY GUNNER........ watching that TB and 49ers game. that Mr Irrelevant....Purdy from Iowa st seems pretty good!!!!!!!! he's give nthe bucs the business right now!!!!!!!
-
:happy1:  Yeah, I quit watching that game about 1/2 time. SF's D is ranked # 1 giving up only 15 pts a game. They will be a tough out in the playoffs, if Purdy keeps playing like he did yday.
-
Anyone else watching the Miami/ Bills game??. Bills fans throwing snowballs when Miami was close to the end zone is pretty friggin bush league to me.
-
Well ya know we did chuck a booze bottle at a referee once during a play-off game. ;) :smoking:

Vikings vs Cowboys???
-
Yep, way back at the old Met Stadium, late 60's maybe early 70's. Hit the ref to I think.
-
That was 1975. The same game with Staubach connecting with Drew Pearson—the original Hail Mary pass.
-
I told the wife the same thing. Someone needs to clock that ref with a whisky bottle.
-
I was at that game. Old Met Stadium. Sitting up in the 3rd deck. Looked like a win until Pearson pushed off to catch that pass from Staubach.

I'm one of the rare guys who hates all of this replay crap but it would be fun to see slow mo of that play and what they would call today. In fact I would like to see a whole game and how many roughing and targeting calls these guys would call in that game. :rotflmao:

The Jets should've had a chance to tie their game with the Lions but they only used 1 timeout in the last minute when they had the ball. They had to try a 58 yd FG with :01 left & the game ended with them still having 2 timeouts left. :bonk:

I'd like to hear what Rivera has to say about the penalty calling - or lack of it - in the last two minutes. Commanders got jobbed.
But if a Giants win seals a Cowboys playoff spot - the conspiracy theorist in me understands those bad calls at the end of the game.
-
Rivera has a right to be PO'ed IMO, that PI on the last play was totally obvious & no call!!  Had to be 2-3 others in the last 2 minutes too. :bs: Cowboys have already beaten the Giants twice & still have 1 game left against WSH. So WSH could've still gotten the tiebreaker with the Cowboys. Not a fan of the Boy's owner, at all!!!!! :puke:
-
The broadcast kept showing Rivera's face after the blown/bad calls - hoping to get some reaction. He was channeling his best 'Bud Grant.' :lipsrsealed:
I would love to hear the call Rivera () makes to the league office this morning. :taz:
-
I watched until halfway through the third quarter. They also called a bad pick play on Warsh that prevented a TD early on. Terrible refs this year.

The broadcast kept showing Rivera's face after the blown/bad calls - hoping to get some reaction. He was channeling his best 'Bud Grant.' :lipsrsealed:
I would love to hear the call Rivera () makes to the league office this morning. :taz:
 https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/nfl-insider-notes-run-of-blatantly-bad-calls-may-force-changes-mvp-race-goes-down-to-wire-more-from-week-15/ar-AA15sBX0

More calls must be reviewable and or challenged.

 Can the Eagles beat the Cowboys without Hurts? Injured his shoulder & may not play. They pretty much have the division locked up already anyway.
-
That will be a fun game too. Although I will be rooting for them both to lose.
-
just read where Franco Harris passed away!!!!!!!!!!!! kinda odd, 1 day prior to the anniversary of his immaculate reception!!!!!!!!
-
 Heard Hurts might play now.
-
 Heard Hurts might play now.
Subterfuge.
The Eagles have two-game lead over the Vikings (plus the tie-breaker) with three games to play.
The Eagles would have to lose all their remaining games (Cowboys, Eagles, Giants) AND the Vikings would need to win out (Giants, Packers, Bears) for the Eagles to NOT get the top play-off spot and first round bye.
They would be foolish to play Hurts.
-
Yeah, I seen that yday & was thinking the same thing.
-
Yep I say let him play, maybe the on and off Cowboy defense will put a Hurts on him..
-
Why not. :happy1:
-
 He is listed as doubtful on the Eagles IL today & the HC said he doesn't expect him to be available. So it looks like Gardner Minshew will get a shot at the Cowboys.
-
Wow......Monday night football. Player down for over 15 minutes. Ambulance on the field. Had to have CPR given.
-
I just tuned in and didn't see the hit. They said it didn't look like anything out of the ordinary.
-
I haven't heard if he is still alive. I've never seen anything like this while watching a football game.
Game temporarily suspended. Players gone back to the locker rooms.
-
We watched the hit a few times. The runner ran into him as he was tackling him. Then he got up just fine took a step and collapsed. Didn't look that bad. Maybe chest neck thing????? Maybe a heart attack?????
-
I think the NFL will suspend this game untill when??
-
Yup.
-
https://youtu.be/8S6ZQEjvtkM
-
Really tough to watch, thoughts & prayers sent. It is just a game!!
-
This has the potential to be REAL bad. They don't ambulance a guy off the field unless there is a chance it's life threatening. Say a prayer for this young man. Football is only a game but this situation is real life & death.
-
Right in the chest.....Minutes of CPR means his heart was stopped.
-
NFL suspends game.
-
I'm thinking heart attack.
-
Coverage best on CNN.
-
A few of the Bill's players didn't want to go back to Buffalo right away last night & went to the hospital instead. Diggs & Bengal's HC,Taylor, were among the 1st at the hospital.
-
what happened. soinds like he is stable. there was an article on MSN or somewhere i read what a cardilogists thinks happened.
guess they put him ni-nite to put a breathing tube in!!!!!!
-
 Heard 1 theory about his heart getting knocked out of rythym when he got hit in the chest helping make the tackle & that was probably a leading factor in the cardiac arrest.

Here's the pc I was talking about above. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/what-damar-hamlin-video-reveals-about-his-injury-according-to-cardiologist/ar-AA15VdNw

I don't want to sound jaded, but...
I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about them postponing the game indefinitely - or certainly with no scheduled date or makeup proposal. I'm assuming that since both teams have already clinched a play-off spot - rather than make them finish the game after such a traumatic injury and heart-felt response from both teams - they will probably let both teams play the last game of the season and hope that the outcome of the Bills/Bengals game would not have had much impact in the play-off seedings.
The one thing that struck me was the player's response: immediate, fervent, and desperate prayer. The culture promulgated by Mainstream Media does everything in its power to convince us that there is no place for God or expression of religion or Heaven forbid*... public prayer - all in the name of separation of Church and State.
* pun intended ;)
-
You may be right but I see the media more allowing all of the different religions to do their thing. Not shunning christianity.
-
There is no way the players from the Bills will step on the field as long as their team mates life hangs by a thread. Nor should they.
-
Move the game from last night to next Monday.
Postpone all the games from next weekend to the following weekend.
Eliminate the first week before the Super Bowl. No one cares about the Pro Bowl anyway.
-
There is no way the players from the Bills will step on the field as long as their team mates life hangs by a thread. Nor should they.
so. Dutchy, I truly get your point and don't necessarily disagree, and I totally agree this game doesn't need to be finished. The 2 sides are grownups they can figure something out. BUT let me ask you this. Should a very serious work place injury happen in the course of a normal person ( not an athletes) workplace should everyone working there not have to ever go back to work.
Just asking as a devil's advocate??🤔
-
Thats a 100% different situation. These people are all highly paid and can afford to miss a check if need be. This game should be played and i'm sure it will be. It just shouldn't be forced on the Bills to do it right away this week was my only point.
Are you sure the delay won't affect your fantasy play-offs? It's just a game except to all the gamblers out there.

first i have no stakes in fantasy football so could care less.
second........maybe i interpetted your orginal post wrong.........yea it happens!!!!! :surrender: :rotflmao: but i definitely got the impression you said the Bills shouldnt have to play that game at any point??
i would agree to disagree to a point........yea its just a game.......but there are one hell of alot of really big paychecks that are tied to this 'game".
-
Yup need to pick a day and play the game. Not to be cold but a lot of respect has already been shown. Now back to business.
-
 No way they'll reschedule that game before they see what happens this weekend IMO & then it might not matter. :tut:
-
During a Wednesday afternoon conference call regarding the Damar Hamlin situation, NFL executive V.P. of football operations Troy Vincent didn’t rule out the possibility of postponing the Week 18 game between the Patriots and the Bills, if Bills players and coaches aren’t ready to proceed.
This is ridiculous....If someone at your place of work tragically died, would everyone not work for 2 weeks??? Not even 1 week....
-
Ken I agree with you all the way...
-
If the Bills players don't want to play, they should just end the season and forfeit the last 2 games.
Not trying to be heartless here. But people have this kind of thing happen. Just not on National TV.

 It's very tough situation for the league. The owners, NFLPA, the teams, the ticketholders, & the networks will all need to agree on what should happen. I'm not sure that they can figure that out without rescheduling the SB, & I don't believe they'll be willing to do that.

Yup. Just had a coworker that I know really well that passed away unexpectedly over Christmas. We didn't get 2 weeks off. Also had another coworker that crashed his airplane and died last summer up at the angle. No time off for that one either. Like Ken is thinking, they are cuddled a little ho much.

High level NFL people are saying that the following NFL schedule could happen:
Week 19
Bengals/Bills
NFC wild card playoffs
AFC playoff bye week
Week 20
AFC wild card playoffs
NFC playoff bye week
-
Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals Canceled: What It Means for NFL Schedule (https://www.profootballnetwork.com/buffalo-bills-vs-cincinnati-bengals-canceled-what-it-means-for-nfl-schedule/)
The league is still deciding on what changes to the postseason are needed to achieve maximum competitive fairness following the extraordinary events of the last week.
By declaring Bills-Bengals a no contest — which the Associated Press first reported — the league guaranteed Cincinnati a home playoff game. The Bengals are AFC North champions, as the Ravens cannot catch them in the standings even with a win against Cincinnati in Week 18. The Bengals will be the AFC’s No. 2 or 3 seed. The Ravens will be the No. 5 or 6.
The league’s decision to cancel also means the Kansas City Chiefs can clinch the conference’s No. 1 seed with a win Saturday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The AP reported Thursday that the league is still working through potential changes to playoff seedings and schedule, changes that must be approved by the NFLPA.
If the reporting from ESPN and ProFootballTalk is accurate, the league is really thinking outside of the box. Everything from adding an eighth team to the field to hosting the conference championship game on a neutral field (if the game involves two of the Bengals, Bills, and Chiefs) has been discussed.
-
Here is another option they are really considering....
No bye for the number 1 team. Add an 8th team to the playoffs.
-

i really don't care much how they do it but I am definitely not in favor of this route! :tut:
What good does it do then to fight for the best record and earn a bye.
I get this is a totally unique situation but still
-
Just let everybody in the play-offs.
#1 can play #32. :doah:

Just play the game on a Saturday. Doesn't even have to be televised. Keep the playoffs the way they are.

I've always hated teams getting playoff byes - especially in football, where every game exacts it toll on the players. That, to me, is way more of a competitive advantage than a home game, AND they get the home games to boot.
I think there should be 16 team teams in the playoff - 8 from each league so the brackets are even and everyone plays the same number of games.
But they won't to that because granting byes DOES give an advantage to the best teams, where the best teams have the best players, and the best players are the Super Stars - who end up having a better chance of playing in the Superbowl - which is the best for ratings.
-
I agree Steve. It is a double advantage for the better team at the time to win. How about giving the underdog one of those advantages?
-
I agree.....no byes
-
yea but didnt the packers have the bye last year..........and they lost!!!!!!!
as far as having the best players......not so sure about that............there where a few super bowl winners with backup QB's......Foles is one i can think of.......besides its a 53 man roster.........not all are going to be the stud super bowl MVP.
i guess i'm on my own out here but i still think working during the course of the season to have that best record to earn the bye.....or a better playoff seating....if for nothing else then getting a home game or 2 is worth it!!!!!
-
X2 what Glenn said!
-
IN all reality that is what you earn for doing a good job. So I agree.
-
The owners have voted to approve changes to the existing rule for handling the aftermath of a canceled game.
25 owners voted in favor of the changes, with three or four voting no and the rest abstaining.
The new rule creates a potential neutral-site AFC Championship based on various factors, given the cancellation of Bills-Bengals. The new rule also determines home-field advantage for a Bengals-Ravens wild-card game by a coin flip, if the Ravens beat the Bengals on Sunday.
-
Pretty cool.....Buffalo returned the opening kick-off for a touchdown against the Patriots. Nice salute to their teammate. :happy1:

:coffee:

Pretty strange play resulting in a Green Bay penalty toward the end of the half. Never seen anything quite like that.

Me either......what was number 29 doing?????
-
I donno. Drugs?

I tuned into the Packer game around 10 o'clock.
I'm not sure what would make me happier then seeing Erin go down in flames. His interception sealed the deal. Now we can listen to the old narrative of will he retire or not, will the Packers trade him or not?
Thank you Erin, you made a old fat guy very happy tonight. :happy1: :happy1:
-
This is a very entertaining game. Loved the play selection from the Lions!!!
Packers are TOAST!!!! :happy1: :happy1: :happy1:
-
:happybounce: What a great day for football!!!!!! Vikes win, Packers lose, & the Cowboys look like dog poo. :party1:
-
I watched until the end. After the game he was talking to players and looked like he was kissing them on the neck with his drama talks to them. Then he was looking around the stadium like it was going to be his last time. More drama??
-
It was interesting to compare JJ Watt's final game and field walk-off with Erin Rodgers'.
I KNOW I'm jaded and have my prejudices against Rodgers, but it just seems that JJ had a genuine emotional reaction to his retirement and Erin was only playing his typical, annual, made-for-TV, coy "this could be my last game at Lambeau Field" drama :queen: act.

JJ Watt was an awesome player , he's done a lot of good stuff off the field too.
-
2nd that
-
Darn good guy.
-
He sure was, he earned the respect of fans and players. Rodgers? He was in it for himself..
-
I see the games on Sat don't start till 3:30. Noon on Sunday.
-
Just my opinion but not only are the Jaguars playing against the Chargers but the officials also.
4 interceptions didn't help either. :doah:
-
I don't know if it's because he is working with Dungy tonight but Michael's is terrible.
-
Good game to watch. Chargers played lousy. 27 gifted points in the first quarter and 3 the rest of the way.
-
Jags got a big lift from the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Bosa that allowed them to get the 2 pt conversion on their last TD or it may have went OT. He's probably still kickin himself over that 1. :banghead:
-
Ya the Jags pulled of a Vikes type of win. :happy1:

:rotflmao: yea he looked pizzed!!!!!! he got another one later and i didnt see him in the game after that??? the announcers made a comment that the 2nd one wouldnt kick him out of the game though??????
i thought the officiating pretty much stunk it up!!!!!!!
-
Unfortunately we have to sit through Dolphins and Bills at noon. Vikes at 3:30. Two good games tonight. Bucs and Cowboys, Bengals and Ravens.

Oh thanks for that info. Good I want to watch that game.

 With Jackson out for the Ravens & the way Prescott has looked for about the last month, I wouldn't be too surprised to see neither of those games be that close.

Likely right. After all we know a two time loser that got caught jay-walking twice would be allot more dangerous to the public than a 1st time armed car-jacker. :bonk: Sometimes there is no explaining the NFL.
-
So, anyone else watching the game?? I'm flipping it on occasionally cause il watching NCIS.
What's the deal?? Dallas has 18 pts. Is there kicker that bad or they trying for 2 and failing??🤔
-
3 missed extra points.
-
Make that 4!! Plus he missed one last week. Thats 5 missed extra points in a row. Cowboys are lucky Brady sucks tonight so it really shouldn't matter.
-
 It didn't matter but he finally made #5 last night. :doah:

Right, the heck with your contest....BRING DOWN THE CHIEFS!!!
-
:rotflmao: :rotflmao: its way more fun though watching Mahomes and his playground QB'ing!!!!!!!!!!
-
I missed it, did Mahomes come back in?
-
Yep after 1/2 time. He only missed 1 series. Chiefs won.
-
:banghead: :banghead: hoe do the eagles run all over the Gaints.......and then there's the vikings!!!!!!!!!!!! :doofus: :pouty:
-
Ya glad it is the Giants getting manhandled instead of the Vikes.
-
Neither game woryh watching.....Both one sided.
-
 I thought the KC game was interesting when Mahomes got hurt. That 98 yd drive by Henne was huge, so was the KC's TD in the 4th qtr. The Jag's had it down to a FG before that. Jags still had a chance to tie it up but the 2 TO's put an end to that.
-
Yes it was a good game.
-
Love me some wintery / snowy football. Ought to be a good game.
-
What time an channels the dallas 9rs game

Fox and at 530

I would not want to play the Bengals.

i'd be more afraid of the 49ers, personally.
i know i picked the bills....but i wont be heartbroken if that diva Diggs goes home again!!!!! :smoking: :happy1:

Keep the faith if you have the 49'ers. The longer it stays tight the better the chance Dak gags it away.

-
I had picked Cinn but changed it before the games started because I read they would have 2 starting offensive lineman out. Guess they have good backups. Wasn't close. They were a lot better than Buffaloes defensive linemen.
-
Also GLAD to see Jerry Jones and the Cowpies lose. Tired of him and his "America's Team" bullcrap.
-
Keep the faith if you have the 49'ers. The longer it stays tight the better the chance Dak gags it away.
That was Dak's 49th straight game where he hasn't gone 2 games in a row without an Int is what I heard on a postgame show. That streak goes back to the end of the '18 & beginning of the '19 season. :doah:
-
Right up to kickoff I was ready to switch to the Bills and then thought about how first instincts are the best or whatever that saying is and kept the Bengals.
-
So now we will have the 49ers at the Eagles at 2:00 on Sunday and the Bengals at the Chiefs at 5:30. Looking forward to it.

Josh Allen Has Words For Stefon Diggs After WR Throws Tantrum After Playoff Loss (https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/josh-allen-has-words-for-stefon-diggs-after-wr-throws-tantrum-after-playoff-loss-video/ar-AA16CGdz?ocid=entnewsntp&cvid=4a0e71b9cfdf4d75cb11187f8aa5bb11)
Josh Allen says Stefon Diggs is a fiery competitor and he wants the ball. Said the Bills have to figure out how to do it better as they look at things this offseason.
That’s not a bad plan. But Allen did try to get the ball to Diggs during the game. Allen struggled with the Bengals’ pass rush. The elements of snow didn’t seem to help matters. Diggs’ frustration is understandable, but he could have been a better teammate Sunday.
-
The Bengals were PO'D 3 weeks ago after their game with Buffalo was cancelled. Not that it was cancelled, but that they received the short end of the stick when the NFL decided to give Buffalo the home field yesterday.
If they had won that game, the game yesterday would have been in Cinn.
The most recent surge of attitude came from the league’s decision to announce on Friday, for no apparent reason, the fact that Bills and Chiefs fans had purchased 50,000 tickets to a neutral-site conference championship in only 24 hours.
The Bengals had a reason to be pissed off about it. And they clearly were. Quarterback Joe Burrow, in an on-field post-game interview, said to Tracy Wolfson of CBS, “Better send those refunds.”
They got after it big time. Good for them. I hope they win the Super Bowl.
They have lost 4 times just like the Vikes.....Go get em Bengals. My new favorite team after the Vikes.
-

Niners defense needed to score or at least generate turnovers. No such luck. Johnson just played his last NFL game. Still not impressed with the Eagles although they did what they needed to do to win.
-
yea this game is over.......Purdy cant throw the ball. your down 3 TD's and hand it off :confused:stupid penalties on the 49ers also killed them.

Short of Philly fans putting someone in a coma, they won't. Fanatic fans like Philly's pump tons of money into the NFL. NFL don't want to upset that tea cart.

Tom Brady says he’s retiring. And this time he says he’s not going to change his mind.
-
okkkk
-
SF's DC is now HC in Houston & Denver paid NO a 1st & a 2nd rd pick to get Sean Payton to come there.
-
A rumor mill concept I read yesterday. We send Kirk to SF where he would be a plug and play addition to a great team. We get unproven but possibly good Lance, 3 3rd round draft picks and one of their O lineman. Not familiar with him. I would take that chance. We do have Josh Rosen as a backup still don't we?
-
Pretty sure Josh Rosen is Joe Johnson 2.0 & does SF want to give 3 thirds away when they already gave 3 #1's to get him? I don't see this one has having any chance. Niners have Purdy, Lance to battle for #1 job and can pick a scrap heap guy for #3 anytime. Any exactly why would they trade Cousins? Does anybody here think he won't sign another deal with the Vikings?

Vikings Part Ways With Former 1st-Round QB (https://heavy.com/sports/minnesota-vikings/josh-rosen-kirk-cousins-nfl-news/) I think the Vikes would make that trade to rebuild the team, but I don't think SanFan would. If I heard right, Purdy has a completely torn ligament in his elbow, which means Tommy John surgery and an 18 month recovery. My guess is that SF will roll into next season with JimmyG and Lance and see who is healthy enough to be the starter.

Classy guy. Worth the watch.

wonder if he's gonna make up with his super model ex-wife??????  :whistling: :whistling:

Denver gets a 3rd round pick back in the Peyton deal.
-
What an overrated coach. I really like the Fox football pregame guys and he stunk the whole act up for me. Documented cheater.
-
Being a successful NFL head coach and being an A-List football analysis are two different things. I suspect Peyton is better at one than than he is the other. He doesn't have to impress millions of fans, just the 53 men in the locker room.
Great deal for the Saints. They get something for nothing.
-
If Payton gets Wilson back on track it will work out well. Payton for all his faults does know offense. If he can't then the Bronco's paid a bunch of money to a guy who is done. However rumor has it Walmart has a bit of dough so it won't break the Bronco's.
The NFL is better when Denver, Kansas City and now Vegas are good at the same time.

I guess I would too. There isn't as much experience doing Tommy John surgery on QBs as there is on MLB pitchers.
Besides, the MLB contracts are fully guaranteed. I've heard it said that a Tommy John-repaired tendon is stronger than the original for a pitcher. Yeah, pitchers have to rehab for 16 to 18 month, but they are getting paid and the year off might even extend their career.
NFL QBs is another story - especially on a rookie contract. If Purdy doesn't play his cards right, he could be out of the league with next to nothin - relatively speaking. Things don't work out, the team will just cut him.
-
Unless they completely F up the surgery I think Purdy will be fine. He got some good reps on tape for other teams to see. You look at Bridgewater with his injury and Seattle's Smith with his lack of talent, there are some guys who make very good money being career backups.

Seen one of the eagles offensive lineman is being charged with rape and other charges. :doah:

Tom Brady says he’s retiring. And this time he says he’s not going to change his mind.
Tom Brady Announces He Is Permanently Retired And Also Open To Playing For Other Teams (https://babylonbee.com/news/tom-brady-announces-he-is-permanently-retired-and-also-open-to-playing-for-other-teams)
TAMPA, FL — A page turned on a legendary NFL career and opened the door to exciting possibilities for the future today, as Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady announced he is permanently retired and also open to fielding offers to play for other teams.
"I'm officially retired, for good this time," Brady said in a video statement released on social media. "My playing career in the NFL is absolutely over. Completely. Unless other teams are interested in me playing for them. Then I'd be willing to listen. But except for that, I'm so totally retired."
Brady finishes his 23-year playing career as arguably the greatest quarterback in the history of the league, having racked up numerous career, regular season, and postseason records, seven Super Bowl championships, 15 Pro Bowls, three NFL MVP awards, and one marriage and subsequent divorce with a supermodel. After briefly retiring for six weeks following the 2021 NFL season, Brady's latest retirement brings him one step closer to breaking Brett Favre's record for retirements from football.
"Tom has set the bar high for every player in so many ways," said full-time NFL quarterback and part-time Muppet Patrick Mahomes. "His statistics, his accolades, the number of records he holds, and the sheer number of people who absolutely hate him for his success and the way he looks is truly astounding. He's what we all want to be."
At publishing time, Brady was reportedly in talks with the Del Boca Vista Dragonslayers of the National Shuffleboard League, with a special contingency that he be released from his contract as soon as he returns to the NFL and signs with the Las Vegas Raiders.

He's been put on Goodell's Exempt List & will not be allowed to play in the SB. From what I gathered, pretty much just a Special Teams guy anyway.
-
Thanks, I hadn't read that yet.
It's usually not the athlete themselves, it's the PED's they take that sets them off. No matter what the excuse there never is a valid reason to pound on a women IMO. Just walk away. Now he has this allegation hanging around his neck the rest of his life.

I also read that he had only played in one game so far this season.
-
:happy1: I read somthing about only 5 snaps all season too.
-
Kinda sucks for him right before the Super Bowl. He may never get another chance to play in one. But if he brought this on himself..............
-
So how about us getting Flores for our DC. I couldn't be happier about that. I didn't think it would happen as weak as our D seems. I hope he comes in and gets things rolling. I read that he likes aggressive players and doesn't sit back and wait to see what the other team is going to do type of coach. We sat back every game this year except maybe the first GB game.
-
all he do is make it better!!!
-
Cant get any worse. Flores... :happy1:
-
Flores was a Special Teams Asst with NE when(2008) they drafted K O'C as a QB. Came across this too. https://heavy.com/sports/minnesota-vikings/brian-flores-patrick-peterson-nfl-rumors/
-
Great article Gunner. I like the sounds of Flores the more I read about him. So he likes a stable of tall lengthy cornerbacks that can kick some azz. I am all in on that. Too bad Peterson probably won't be here, I like him.
-
Too bad Peterson probably won't be here, I like him.
You never know... Flores might like his veteran presence if they can afford him.
-
 He's already said he'd like to stay but now with the change of schemes, who knows. Money will be part of it too, I'm sure.

Reading all the NFL :bs:, every year Eric Biennemmy gets brought up for a HC position and gets passed over. And every year the same reason why he doesn't get a HC job. Apparently he's got some dirt in his background?? Anyone know what??
With all the dirt flying around the NFL, one wonders how bad can it be?!

I don't know who Jason Whitock is, but here is his take - suggesting that Bieniemy isn't a strong leader personally, and why the African American culture in our country today doesn't produce strong male leaders.
Jason Whitlock: The real reason Eric Bieniemy isn’t an NFL head coach (https://usasports.news/jason-whitlock-the-real-reason-eric-bieniemy-isnt-an-nfl-head-coach/)
"... The media has spent all these years saying ‘OH, ERIC BIENIEMY, HE DESERVES A HEAD COACHING JOB!’ “HE’S THE GREATEST HEAD COACH!” “HE WILL BE OVERCOME BECAUSE HE IS BLACK!” “If the NFL wasn’t racist…” You been selling that nonsense forever while the Houston Texans were hiring Lovie Smith from the scrap heap? Hiring Dave Culley, a 40-year-old NFL assistant? The NFL has no problem hiring black head coaches. I don’t care what you hear on TV about how “racist” they are, race is not the issue, CULTURE is the issue. They’re putting all these men into this emasculated victim culture that’s been foisted on black people. That’s not how you make leaders, and that’s why black men are struggling to get NFL head coaching jobs. Because they have been forced into a culture that does not prepare them for leadership. THIS IS Eric Bieniemy’s problem. It ties into the conversation we’re going to have about The Woman King. Black people live in a matriarchal culture here in America. A matriarchal culture doesn’t produce quality black male leadership, period, end of story. We can either face that fact and correct it, or we can whine and cry and call everyone a racist and say, “OH, IT’S THE WHITE MAN’S FAULT…” It’s OUR fault for perpetuating and believing a matriarchal culture . If you keep on your knees and you’re a beta male and a coward, you’ll eventually get dropped from the script. This happened to Eric Bieniemy. Life knocked on its door and said, ‘Eric, we did our best, we tried to sell you for three years, we got all the media to say you’re the best coach in the world, then come on you get into those interview rooms and everyone finds out that you’re not made for leadership and they won’t give you the job. They literally tried to get rid of him this offseason and ended up signing him on another one-year deal. Now they are done. They gave him as much welfare as they can give him, no one would buy the counterfeit product, and now they’ve dropped him from the script.”
Time Magazine has the Woke Answer...
Time: 'If He Was White, He Would Have a Job.' One of the Best Coaches in Football Keeps Getting Ignored (https://time.com/6255798/eric-bieniemy-nfl-black-coaches/)
In recent history, working as an offensive coordinator for a Super Bowl-winning team has almost guaranteed you a head-coaching job in the NFL.
Unless you’re Black.
-
It looks like he had a few run ins with the law when he was in college. :tut: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Bieniemy Pretty tame by today's standards though so there could easily be more to it.
-
Yeah... anything BUT maybe teams just don't think he is head coaching material.
-
I found this statement above interesting. Hadn't heard this before. Thinking about it, maybe it is true....

Tell that to Colin Powell, Tony Dungy, Dusty Baker. The thing is there are less black leaders because there are less opportunities. To apply any other excuse is insulting to them.
-
Dutchy.... You forgot Obama!! :happy1: :rotflmao:

Sorry Glenn, I did forget about him.

Can't name very many.....proves the quote. There are always exceptions.
-
My point was it's lack of opportunity, not a lack of ability. Given a white guy, black guy, green guy & purple guy with the same backgrounds & education they will have the same abilities won't they? If so it then becomes a matter of opportunities with then can be limited by color.
-
I think Jason Whitlock was trying to make two points.
1) Bieniemy isn't getting a job because NFL teams don't think he will make a good head coach.
2) The matriarchal nature of African American culture in America today produces a disproportionate amount of strong leaders.
First, none of us really know why Bieniemy isn't getting hired. To speculate isn't fair. If the premise that he isn't a good leader is close to the truth, it is still reckless to speculate it is because he is the product of a matriarchal subculture. There are many of great African Americans who have incredible leadership qualities. If I were a skilled athlete, I'd love to be coached by Mike Tomlin or Tony Dungy.
Second, Google how welfare has destroyed black families, specifically LBJs Great Society reforms. (Really, do it!) Basically, working poor families could not get welfare subsidies if the father was living in the home. Raise several generations of children where a significant percentage of fathers are absent from the homes, what do you think you will get? (Pretty much what we've got now with all the racial problems we are dealing with.)
So perhaps Whitlock's point was tied to his unspoken recognition or perception that fatherless homes implies a matriarchal culture, that is, the women are in charge of raising the kids. Kids need both strong mothers AND fathers to give them the best change of growing up good and strong - especially boys. Men without strong fathers need to get that masculine support somewhere, and all to often it is from association with criminal organizations.
-
My honest thoughts on why Bienemy isn't getting hired............I don't care. ;)
-
personally i struggle with the thought just because there black they dont have the same opportunities?? i'm not understanding why he hasnt been given a shot by some team?? with todays world filled with the diversity word one would think an employer would put a feather in there hat considering all qualifications are near equal!!!!!!!
which brings me to the recent news  it has come out that the Vikes new DC Flores turned down a head coaching job............ does his law suit go away.........and why not!!!!!!!1 :doah:

Maybe not....Matriarchal Culture may be the reason. They may not have the same abilities because of it.

No, because 2 other coaches filed it with him. https://www.si.com/nfl/vikings/news/brian-flores-declines-comment-ongoing-lawsuit-against-nfl

 He'll get more job offers next year too, so he could easily be 1 & done. :pouty:

Read today that Zadarius Smith put his Minnesota house up for sale. Does he know something?? He signed a 3 year deal, think his cap hit is pretty big

 Seen that too.

Big deal. The media sure hiped him and hunter up early in training camp if you guys remember. He was a factor early on then nuttin.

Carolina trades up to get Bears number 1 pick.
The Bears are getting the No. 9 overall pick and No. 61 overall pick in this year’s draft from Carolina, as well as wide receiver D.J. Moore, the Panthers’ 2024 first-round pick, and the Panthers’ 2025 second-round pick.
That's a lot to give up.....must have a specific QB in mind to take.
-
That is a lot to give.

Read where they really liked the Kentucky guy last year & again at the combine this year too. The same was said about the Alabama & Ohio St kids at the combine.
