I have a beaver lodge in the back yard and wanted to get a few pictures of the tenants. I set the cam and baited it with a cottonwood stick. An hour later the bait was taken. Didn't get a good picture of it but I will keep trying. I did get a few pictures of wood ducks. I will set up another cam closer to the water and try and get a closer pic of the ducks.

Be careful where you put the camera. The neighbor put one on a small popple and the beavers took it. Yes, it's gone tree and all.

Here is a good one. I wish the lighting was a little better. The beaver always has his back to the camera so no pictures to share of him.

I got some pics of shypolks just fired up the dusty puter with the 1 tb and 3 250GB standalnoe harddrives with my pics on em.Maybe I can sort through some?? Dont wanna compete for pics just have some.

My wife makes an awesome goose wild rice hotdish. Takes a lot of time and uses a lot of raw ingredients. I also have a recipe that's a marinade that's good. Use that also for pheasant. Then there is always the smoker or dehydrator.

Going to need to get that hotdish recipe. Might have to try it with ducks as well.

never tried it with duck. I think there is a difference between goose and duck meat. moms secret to duck is soaking it in baking soada I think.
as far as the reciepies keep bugging me, kinda busy this week trying to negotiate an agreement!

Here's a honker receipt. Cut the breasts in strips, roll them up with bacon like a beef London broil, cook on grill edges down. Sprinkle some Lowrys or any of your favorite seasoning on them. Cook to how you want them (rare, medium or well) and enjoy. Had one guy mad at me because he was expecting goose. Thought it was beef. :happy1:

Went out to check how the chains were working on the tractor this morning. While going around the east landing I saw foot prints and thought who is scouting my property. As I followed the foot prints thru last nights snow I found a spot where they were fairly clear. They were not wearing boots.
I followed the tracks to the bone pile and found only a few legs and a head. The tracks went across a gut pile(GONE) and over the hill to the swamp where it denned last year.
It seems quite late for bears to be out but with the warm temps and adequate food must have delayed hibernation.

WOW! it was 9 above this past weekend north of deer river!
