Oh yah forgot to mention the lake(that would be lake of the woods Leech) is trying to skim over. Thick slush with some steam coming off of it.

Good morning All.   Warmed up to -2 (IN THE BEMIDJI AREA LEECH) and sounds like it is supposed to get all the way up to 8.  The lake here is about 3/4 froze over.  Now that the wind has calmed I am guessing the rest will freeze here today.  I'm spending the day in the shop.  Warmer in there.

Morning boys.  I'm back in action.  Drove to Luverne so spend Thanksgiving with my family.  Mom and Dad are at a facility by Luverne so we got turkey meals at the Eagles and brought it to a room at their place and had our fun.  Worked out great!  Then we said goodbye and went to the casino in Larchwood.  Cashed in my Vikes win over 6.5 games thing and got a nice chunk of jing.  Then my brother and I bet on the Cowboys and Packers.  How ironic is it that we bet on those teams and in one day.     BUT we won those games too. Neither of us are fans of them.  LOL  Now I have my playoff betting money and it is on them.  What a surprise when we got back to Baudette yesterday afternoon.  Felt our way up the driveway and were shocked to see a solid 10" and maybe 12" in spots like on the deck.  Unreal! The wife shoveled the deck.  :sleazy:  Whilst I got a fire going and fed Bucko some oats.  He was sure glad to see us and was kicking up and whinnying.  Love it.  Ya got the dogs out of the kennel too.  That is always an emotional thing.  Gets easier each time.  Hard to be without them.  Cooper hangs by me when we go inside but Jake takes off with them whenever they open a door.  LOL  He is looking for any action he can find.  Well I have to plow yet and get a fire going but no hurry.  Oh ya, not any ice on the river when we left and it is froze shore to shore now.  ???  Unreal.  Red was froze over as far as we could see from the highway and that was on our way south a few days ago.  Didn't see any fishermen yesterday.  LOL  Well will do some catchup reading and then will have to quit procrastinating and get to work.  Today is the first day with my long underwear on.  Will be on till spring now.  :happy1:

Looks to me Trump went thru Little Falls.. :happy1:  Well I skipped a few steps ( lighted garlin around the door, the lighted yard deer) but should be done, just a 2 beer project today. It's all hooked up to the timer so no need to go out and turn it on, could use some snow tho....

Good morning All.  Looks like it actually warmed up to 5 over night.  I was 0 when I went to bed.  Absolutely nothing planned for today and I might just do nothing today.  We'll see how that works out...

Morning boys.  Seems we must be the warm spot with 18 and may see 22.  It is windy already.  Snow falling off the trees and we did get a skiff of real light stuff during the night.  Man it is dark yet.  Heavy clouds.  Still coffeeing and relaxing yet.  The chickadees are busy this morning. No other critters visible.  Looking forward to some football today.  Walk like a duck.  Later.

That would be the "Alex Gas Cartel" Mike. I was told because of transportation costs is why gas is higher in Alex. Good thing there's a huge tank farm here in town (sarcasm here). Spent most of the day in the garage. When I got out there I turned up the thermostat to "tee-shirt" went to work on the JD. Found out my problem was a broken wire to the solenoid on the starter and not the starter itself. So if anyone needs a new starter for a FB460 Kawasaki give me a ring. Got one on the shelf. Also got snowmobiles moved out from under mezzanine, SxS put in their place, blower dug out too. Down to one corner of stuff left to clean up. More coffee, later..... :happy1: :happy1:

Morning boys. 17 here and heading for 22 just like LPS. Wood boiler is filled and side walk is shoveled again. See how long it takes to start snowing again. We have some breakfast sausage to package today and grind some burger too. I took the smoke pole out yesterday evening and said brown is down. And I seen one. Just a fawn, but it will put some meat in the freezer. So I have that to process today to. The lake still has a ton of open water. The wind is keeping it open. Pushing all the ice down to the gap I am sure. Well, sip a little more coffee then pitter patter better get atter. Have a good one boys.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 4 at choretime, heading for a high in the upper teens. Got my list done yesterday altho I ran out of time due to more roadblocks. I still swear we have the world's worst Casey's in Bugtussle. Next time I need non-oxy I'll drive to Ellendale or Waseca. It would've been faster. Got one more hay feeder in the yearling lot to contend with then I'm gonna sit a spell. My back, hip & shoulder are pretty sore after yesterday. After the Queens are done, then we'll go get the sheep at the neighbors' pasture & bring them home. Then it'll be choretime, again.

Morning boys.  We are the warm spot in the area with 18.  May get a little warmer.  No big plans today although I should go get some supplies as we are out of bread etc.  Other than that just keep things running here on the home front. Bob is sure happy that we are home again too.   :sleazy:  You all be safe and have a good one.

Mornin gang, 16 with a snow shower here & 24 will be our high. Need to drop my car off out to the Ford dealer by 8 today as there's some warranty work that they're going to do today. They said it takes around 3 hours, so I'm headed to Mason City with my brother this morning. He has a couple appts over there today. Hope the snow quits. 'Bout it here, have a good day.

It's nice that you get to do things with your brother Gunner.  Sure enjoyed being around my brothers and sister at Thanksgiving. And Mom and Dad too.  Now that they all moved back to Luverne and I am up here in God's country I hardly see them anymore.

Just got home from chiropractor. Another cup of coffee and we're off to collect hides and the boxes. Looking at the weather forecast nobody is going to be out in this cold anyway. Cept JB maybe. Stay warm, later.... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 9 at choretime heading for a high in the low 20's. Got the hay stuck in the hay feeders yesterday then brought the sheep home from the neighbors' late in the afternoon. Not without its consequences.

Once we got home, we separated the ram from the ewes. I'd hung onto him in the front compartment of the trailer while the wife opened the gate & let the ewes in the back compartment out. I let go of him & turned my back for a couple seconds while I was looking for a latch to let myself out. He blasted my thigh from behind and mashed my kneecap into the divider door stiffener. Knocked me down so I was on my hands and knees. I knew I had to get up because I could see he was gonna hit me again if I didn't. Friend of mine from Fairmont died after getting hit in the head on a deal like that. Wife heard me hurling invectives at the ram & let me out. Put a gash on my kneecap about an inch and a half long & the rest of the knee is pretty swollen. Moving pretty slow. Can put weight on it but it's stiff and sore. Hoping it's just bruised. Next few days will tell. This sheep farming is a rough sport.
