Here is something about Hy Vee that most people don't know about. The only choice beef they have is in the service case period. All of the rest in their regular meat case is Select. Same stuff that Walmart got. They give it a fancy name but it's crap. In general they have a nice store with some things other grocery stores don't have like making things on the spot to eat and the service is good. But as far as the beef, Forget it. Ya i see their ads and you have to be careful what you are buying as far as beef. Cub last weekend had a three day sale on Farmland bacon for 2.99 ea. for 16 oz. good luck.

Cub Foods will stop selling e-cigarettes and vaporizers in more than 110 of its stores.
On Twitter, the Minnesota-based company said they decided after carefully considering the "increasing questions from the health community" and "complex regulations associated with the products."
Cub Foods also announced that while Minnesota is an open carry state they're asking customers to no longer carry firearms into their stores. They say this comes after customer feedback and recent tragic events across the country.

Takes lotsa motivation and drive. I started biking again with a girl friend before my last spinal surgery. She'd go about 3 miles after work. I could barely do one! Said that's gonna change! After a couple three weeks, I really got revved, and was doing 10-12 miles every day after work. I actually lost 24 lbs in a month and got into the best shape I've been in in quite a while. (sensible eating, too) Kept it off until the next surgery two years later took away that ability to bike.
I really miss it.
My experience is that exercise is helpful but it won't do that much to lose weight unless you at athlete level or marine basic level or old school baling hay all day.
Makes you feel better though. Backing off on quantity of food and drink seems to be most effective for me.
And I also think cutting back sugar and potatoes and white bread type stuff is a good idea.
But the warm air rises anyway.... Piece of electric heat tape wrapped around it!!! Or hang it down the hole! Say...... :scratch:...... "Reb's Hole heater"... :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

The wife saw these for sale. We have had our vent freeze up before and she wants me to make one. Supposedly it is below where it freezes and lets warm air from below keep this thing warm enough. May cost $10 then.That's what we did last year Barry. The main sewer vent is on the back side(east) of the cabin & all the snow that blows right off the lake will cover it for a day or so. Eventually a tiny hole appears in the snow after a few days but not before it freezes . We've found ice down at the bottom of it before so the brother just made a T out of copper pipe that's the right length & put in it. Seems to have helped. :scratch: :crazy:

I never took a deer into a processor that mixes the trimmings from other deer. I thought when they did this they weighed "your" trim and then you got products equal to what it yielded. The places I went to gave your own meat back to you, except for sausage and if you had burger mixed with pork or beef. Too much of a pain to mix your 6 or 9 or whatever lbs of trim and try to make a batch of sausage with that. You got all of your steaks chops roasts from your deer. So the bigger the deer the bigger those pieces were. If you shot up a shoulder it showed up with a little less meat. When you asked for sausage or burger that always took a few more weeks to make. So if 40 guys brought deer in and only 32 wanted to pay extra for sausage they divided up the trim to those 32 guys and made sausage out of all of it. Same with deer sticks etc. They just split it between the guys that wanted it. They did use it all up cuz they make money by the pound.

Fifty-six-year-old Angelo Borreson was charged Friday with second-degree murder and second-degree assault in the death of 51-year-old Angela Wynne. Borreson told authorities Wynne drove to his home near Badger in northern Minnesota on Wednesday to help him get gas for his vehicle.
According to the complaint, Borrenson said he accidentally shot Wynne after she started yelling at him to hurry. Borrenson said he did not mean for his shotgun to fire, that it fired by itself.

ROSEAU, Minn. (AP) - A Minnesota man is accused of fatally shooting a woman who yelled at him to hurry up and honked her horn while waiting for him outside his home.
Fifty-six-year-old Angelo Borreson was charged Friday with second-degree murder and second-degree assault in the death of 51-year-old Angela Wynne. Borreson told authorities Wynne drove to his home near Badger in northern Minnesota on Wednesday to help him get gas for his vehicle.
According to the complaint, Borrenson said he accidentally shot Wynne after she started yelling at him to hurry. Borrenson said he did not mean for his shotgun to fire, that it fired by itself.
He must'a been using one of 'dem Remington 700 shotguns.

Bats have lived above the attic and under the soffit at our house since we moved there 35 years ago. They even found a way back in when we remodeled a decade or so back. About dusk every night during the summer you could hear them squeaking & scratching around ready to come out. There was a bunch of them. Heard and saw only one bat one night this past summer. Sad deal.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota Court of Appeals has rejected two of the most important permits for the planned PolyMet copper-nickel mine in northeastern Minnesota in a major victory for environmentalists.
A three-judge panel ruled Monday that the state Department of Natural Resources erred when it declined to order a proceeding known as a "contested case hearing" to gather more information on the potential environmental impacts of the project.
So the court sent the dispute back to the DNR with orders to conduct the hearing. At issue were PolyMet's permit to mine and its dam safety permits.

Crow Hunting
No license is required to hunt crows. They may be taken by legal firearms (shotgun not larger than 10 gauge, rifle, or handgun), bow and arrow or by falconry. There are no daily or possession limits, and shooting hours are 1/2 hr before sunrise to sunset.

I worked at a silo metal fab plant in the '70's....and we sprayed the huge rolls of sheet metal going thru the dies and presses with diesel fuel for a lubricant. Came out of flexible spray lines. Our hands and arms were soaked with it, and the fumes were overpowering. It gave ya tremendous headaches in the Summer, and guys would pass out right there. Wearing gloves didn't help; they were like sponges. Couldn't get the smell out of yer nose. Wonder how many millions I could get if that was today? "I think the public health and public safety issues that come with these one-hour changes in the fall, that seems to upset people more than anything," Kiffmeyer said. "And the only way we can get to having that consistent year-round time with the gentle movement that the sun gives us in the daylight and how that shifts is by adapting to daylight saving time when the federal government should pass that."
Democrats in the Minnesota House of Representatives have put forth a similar proposal. Leaders in both chambers of the divided government have said they're open to the change.
Kiffmeyer said she would also check with Minnesota's surrounding states to see whether they'd take up similar proposals. Iowa is weighing a similar plan and South Dakota's House of Representatives voted down a proposal to permanently adopt daylight saving time earlier this month. I figured her job in checking all the documents and then stamping and OK'ing them included making sure they were initialed if need be.....I still don't recall seeing that on there anywhere. :rolleyes: I don't care. (ABC 6 News) - The Rochester Fire Department responded to a report of a suspicious odor around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday.
When crews arrived they found a small fire at the home near 16th Street SW and 6th Ave SW and were able to get it under control.
The fire department was unable to identify a cause. A fire investigator was on scene shortly before 8:00 a.m.

Yup. Been on all sides of this issue: as an employee, an employer and a consumer. Employees who are perpetual malcontents are poison. From an employers perspective, they underachieve, they infect other workers with their negative attitudes and they do nothing positive for the public image of the company. As an employee they make going to work a drag. Hearing nothing but negative all day every day wears on a person enough so it makes one want to look for another job just to get away from the Negative Nelly. My attitude has always been I was looking for a job when I found this one. Go someplace else. And as a consumer, it turns my stomach to be waited on by individuals like that. Makes me less likely to go in the place for fear I'll have to deal with the dink or another one like them. Fortunately those people tend to weed themselves out after a while. From the employers perspective again, you can try and try to help them but it's like feeding a runt bottle lamb with little will to live. Eventually the light bulb has to come on or you're better off cutting your losses and getting rid of them.That actually sums it up on all our new hires lately. I put a cover on that goes halfway down, leave rest open for air flow, because it is right under a pine tree and adjacent to a huge maple. If I don't cover it, it gets full of pine needles and maple whirlies. They sit in the bottom of the unit and rot away, until I pull the top with motor off and clean it out. Don't really wanna start tearing top off my brand new unit....:happy1: :happy1: :happy1: dont blame you. this new unit of mine sits off the ground a good 18 inches..kinda like that!!!!!1 underneath is open for air flow!!!!
If'n you don't cover the van coils in the summer, why do you need to cover them in the winter? :confused: It ain't like a tarp is going to keep them any warmer. for what its worth, when i had the new AC put in :mooning: this summer, those guys that installed it said you dont need to cover the AC unit. they are designed, built and tested for outside elements in all kinds of different climates.
i simply use a heavier tarp that fits around my AC unit. use various straps and tie downs to secure it. i'm still going to cover it!!!!!!

Are they ignoring the law or are they just under staffed? I see all the time that illegals are sent back when they are caught. Unfortunately there aren't that many caught vs how many entering. If they were ignoring the law completely they would just abandon the entry points.
I understand the hatered towards the illegals. Taking jobs, paying no taxes, free governments programs ect, ect. But....many of these people have nowhere else to turn to improve there lives, lift themselves out of poverty. I don't blame them one bit for wanting to try and get here. If our country was a cesspool wouldn't we all try and get into Canada if we could improve our lives? Hell, we have people flocking to South Dakota to save on taxes!

You aren't gonna believe this. This dude in Avon who is 20 but looks 35 was helping a guy named "Smurf" look for a gun to buy. They gave the guy that got shot $800 for the gun and then shot him in the chest as he sat in the back seat. He got out and ran and made it to the hospital and is still alive.
