                                                             :oops1:

Wild have won 4 in a row tied with Hawks with 20 points but Wild have played one fewer games so are ahead in the standings :coffee:

Wild on the bottom off the standings after losing two but picking up one point they are not alone as two other teams are with them and the Hawks are just one point away from making it four teams. Wild have 4 games in five days, will be interesting to see what they can do with playing for 8 points..

Up and down week in the standings, Wild in last but just 2 points behind the Hawks. Both play tonight How about Yeo and the Blues, nice to see him sitting on top, for now.

Wild won last night and Hawks lost in OT but stay ahead of the Wild by a point

Wild win again. Hawks lose in a shootout but pick up a point teams are now tied.

Wild win in ot again, tied point wise with Chicago but are a few teams ahead in the standing since they have a game in hand. St Louis back in first by 11 I think. Interesting following both Hawks and Wild and I am able to watch some Hawks games if I am desperate and there are no good commercials on tv. :rotflmao:

   :taz: Bobby Bass says! :taz:

:bonk: "Wild have no answer for Kane in loss to rival Blackhawks"   :angry2:

 :coffee: ..........
CHICAGO — As far as Wild coach Bruce Boudreau is concerned, the Chicago Blackhawks are as dangerous as ever.

To him it doesn't matter that there have been some conspicuous cracks in the foundation as of late with the cornerstone pieces of the roster getting up there in age.

To him the the three Stanley Cups speak for themselves.

"You know, whether they've had the (Stanley Cup) team, or this team, they play the same way, they draft the same way, they go for the same kind of guys," Boudreau said. "So beating them is (about) being able to do what we can do. You know, whether some of their players are not as gifted, (Patrick) Sharp was five years younger back then and things like that, I don't think we change the way (we play) to be successful."

And while Patrick Sharp might be declining, another Patrick on the team, you know, Patrick Kane, has only gotten better with age. He proved that on Sunday night at the United Center with a two-goal effort to pace the Blackhawks to a 4-1 win over the Wild.

Kane is now one goal away from 300 goals for his career. He can thank the Wild for 18 goals over the course of his career, the fifth most he's scored against any team in the league.

Meanwhile, it was a disastrous effort from the Wild for most of the night, as they let the Blackhawks do whatever they want for most of the game before fighting back late.

Kane gave his team the lead midway through the first period, burying a cross-ice feed fellow winger Nick Schmaltz. He had all the time in the world to pick his spot after the Wild left him completely unmarked near the right faceoff circle.

Kane was back at in again midway through the second period, this time on a breakaway, after a tape-to-tape through pass from defenseman Jordan Oesterle.

Blackhawks winger Ryan Hartman extended the lead early in the third period with a masterful individual effort. He collected the puck along the boards, beat Nate Prosser to the point of attack, and roofed a puck over the outstretched arm of Alex Stalock, who was tagged with his second straight loss.

Matt Dumba scored his third consecutive team goal — he had two goals in a 3-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center — with a top-shelf a few minutes later.

Blackhawks center Tommy Wingels scored an empty-netter late in the third period to finalize the score.

     Hang in dare Bobby :rotflmao:

God I hate that guy,  :angry2:  only way to stop him is get him on the Wild's team. So Wild lost two points to the Hawks and the Hawks hold a 2-1 game lead this season.  Only real good thing is the Wild's backup goalie Statalock between the pipes had 40 plus saves and he is a much better keeper then Kemper was.. Onward we go, lot of hockey to watch as winter approaches..

:reporter;  Blackhawks ban 4 from home games due to racist taunt.  :taz:

2/19/18

Video by CBS Chicago

 :coffee: ....
The four fans ejected from Chicago's United Center for making racist taunts against a black hockey player have been banned from attending Blackhawks home games.

The fans were notified of the decision directly by the Blackhawks, team spokesman Adam Rogowin wrote in an email to The Associated Press on Monday.

"Racist comments and other inappropriate behavior are not tolerated by the Chicago Blackhawks," Rogowin wrote.

The ban comes after four fans were ejected for chanting "basketball, basketball, basketball"  :rotflmao: at Washington Capitals forward Devante Smith-Pelly, who was sitting in the penalty box during the Blackhawks' 7-1 win on Saturday.

The Blackhawks and arena officials reacted swiftly by ejecting four fans shortly after an off-ice official sitting next to Smith-Pelly — notified building security.

:reporter; .... Breaking News .....Dis Jest in.... :toast:

Hawks fire Quenneville, Jeremy Colliton replacement

Quenneville won three Stanley Cups with Chicago since 2010.
The Blackhawks fired head coach Joel Quenneville on Tuesday morning and named Jeremy Colliton as his replacement.

The team also let go assistant coaches Kevin Dineen and Ulf Samuelsson. Barry Smith was named an assistant coach to Colliton’s staff.
The Blackhawks are off to a 6-6-3 start to the season, but are currently on a five-game losing streak.

Quenneville, 60, joined the Blackhawks organization as a pro scout in September 2008 and in October of that year was promoted to head coach to replace Denis Savard. Quenneville guided the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cups in 2010, 2013 and 2015. Quenneville is the second-winngest head coach in franchise history, with a 452-249-96 record.

“As Chicago Blackhawks fans have seen over the last decade, this organization no longer shies away from making tough decisions or ones based on emotion. Those days are long behind us,” Blackhawks chairman Rocky Wirtz said in a release. “Of course, Joel’s was difficult, as it should have been. During his tenure as head coach to the Chicago Blackhawks, Joel brought the city of Chicago and our fans three Stanley Cups and an incredible era of hockey.

Nothing will ever take away the success he brought our franchise, our fans and my family. Joel will forever be etched into the most memorable era in Chicago Blackhawk hockey. And for that, we will always be connected and always eternally grateful.”

Colliton, 33, becomes the youngest head coach in the NHL. He led the IceHogs to a 40-28-4-4 mark in his first AHL season in 2017-18. Rockford reached the Western Conference Final in the Calder Cup playoffs for the first time in team history. The IceHogs swept the Chicago Wolves and Manitoba Moose before falling 4-2 to the Texas Stars.
Quenneville is the second NHL coach to be fired this week after the Kings parted ways with John Stevens.

From USA Today, today...

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/columnist/allen/2018/11/06/joel-quenneville-blackhawks-coach-fired/1902216002/ (https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/columnist/allen/2018/11/06/joel-quenneville-blackhawks-coach-fired/1902216002/)

"The change behind the bench isn’t going to improve the Blackhawks’ depth or bring a fountain of youth to Duncan Keith (35) and Brent Seabrook (33), two important defensemen. It won't clean up the Blackhawks’ salary cap concerns.

The Blackhawks have six more seasons with Seabrook, and five with Keith and forwards Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews. That is more than $33 million in salary. The salary cap is $79.5 million this season. Those players aren’t going anywhere."

That's a lot of time and money tied up in aging players.  They are in worse shape than the Wild.  So, yeah, fire the coach.  Its his fault.

(Actually, they're probably doing Quenneville a favor as he'll be able to get a job as soon as he wants one and won't be tied to the foundering Hawks.)
