I would much rather have watched the Twins win in xtra innings. But Fox here switched from the Twins to the Vikings. They need to end preseason games. No starters in any of them. They are better off just having 2 teams scrimmage for a couple days. Why would anyone pay a premium price to watch that stuff?????

If it wasn't on for free I wouldn't watch them.  Pretty anti climatic.

You missed nothing by not watching the 10th inning of the Twins. Per the little league  rules that MLB likes the Twins started with a runner on second, I think he moved to third on a wild pitch or passed ball, next batter walked, runners on 1st & 3rd. Walked Kepler and Celestino. Ball game. Not a base hit in the inning.

Gordon sacrificed to get Hamilton to 3rd, Urshela walked, then they intentionally walked Kepler to get to Celestino & set up a potential double play. Kepler already had 2 hits yday & did so again today.  :happy1:

Here's who the Vikings have cut ahead of Tuesday deadline

DT TY McGill

After becoming one of the ‘breakout stars’ of the first two preseason games with 3.5 sacks, T.Y. McGill injured his ankle early in the final preseason game this last Saturday. He's spent time with nine teams since entering the league in 2015.

WR Myron Mitchell

Wide Receiver Myron Mitchell made 5 catches for 55 yards this preseason for the Vikings before his reported cut. He spent last season on the Vikings practice squad after going undrafted in 2021 out of UAB.

CB Tye Smith

Cornerback Tye Smith spent time last year on the Vikings practice squad. Smith was among five players in the first round of cuts back on August 16 but was brought back last Thursday after the Vikings cut punter Jordan Berry.

Football is a brutal game in more ways than one.  Cuts are ruthless - whether you're a young guy trying to make the team for the first year or a veteran trying to hang on for one more season.

You bust your butt and put your body on the line for a chance to make it, and for so many its "close, but no cigar."

I wonder what the deal is with McGill. When he was on the field in the first two games, he looked like an opponent’s nightmare. Either the ankle is a big problem or they saw something else. Maybe the return of Hunter or the presence of Smith makes him expendable.

Nine teams in 8 years kind of implies he always has been a bubble guy.

Give him credit for hanging around.  :happy1:

I think they are considering that this is an older experienced guy going against bottom drafted and non drafted rookies.

Some real household names there!! Get back to me when they dump somebody who has been around longer than the coach.   :rotflmao:

Also the way they are talked about on TV as a terrible player or other names that a mother does not want to hear about her son.  They talk about them as if they are horses not people.

Mond is on his way to the Browns and Mannion is heading to Seattle where he was for a few months last year.  ???  They also just acquired from the Eagles, they guy picked right before J Jefferson in the draft.  He is also a WR.  Does not have near the stats as Jefferson though.  For a 7th and a 4th round draft pick.

The Vikings could always sign 2 martini, er 2 minute Tommy Kramer as the 3rd string QB.

Heck he could put capt kirk on the bench. :sleazy: :rotflmao:

He's expected to be the #5 WR, but the #1 punt returner.https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/vikings-trade-two-draft-picks-to-eagles-for-wr-jalen-reagor/ar-AA11ktVg

Someday I'd like to see a coffee table book of all the should'a-could'a-would'a's from each professional sports team - all their mistakes and missed opportunities.

All the teams that didn't draft Michael Jordan when they had the chance.

The Timberwolves not drafting Steph Curry because they already had a point guard (who was that again? )  Oh yeah.  They had the #5 pick and drafted youngster point guard Ricky Rubio who played a few more years in Spain.  They had the #6 pick and picked point guard Jonny Flynn.  And Curry was taken with pick #7.  :doah:

All sports teams make huge blunders and the Eagles not taking Jefferson was a big miss.

The 2024 4th round pick the Vikes traded to the Eagles for Reagor is conditional.  If he doesn't pan out, they probably won't have to offer it.  No idea of how well he has to perform.  And by 2024 we'll mostly have forgotten about all of this.

Vikings missed on Treadwell. So far they have missed on the center. They kinda missed on the pot smoking wide receiver a few years ago. They hit on Moss when many passed on him. The running back they have now has done well.

Speilman was a miss. Zimmer was a miss if you consider Tice a miss. Steckel of course was a miss.

It really doesn't matter I guess. They will have a average season (for them) the fantasy & gambling guys will be happy.
