Should a 1 year old lab/ golden retreiver cross be required to hunt good the first year of hunting or not? I took her out pheasant hunting last weekend, I used 2 year old bottled scent when training her, and she didn't really hunt, she just more or less ran around, I figuered maybe there weren't any bird's there, then a hen flew up quite away's away, so I took her to the spot, she smelled it, didn't seem too interested, I got a little p***** but figured maybe she was too young too know what to do, also, would it help if I took her out with a known good pheasent dog or would that harm the other dog?
