Here is a couple pics of my English Setter from last fall. She was 10 months old at the time. I can't wait to get back out there.

Awesome -

I started my Golden on a game farm when she was 6 months old.  She hunted more like she was 6 years old.  It was just fabulous.  She even pointed a bird for me that day and I did not even realize it.  She points a fair amoung now if the bird will stay pit.

Here is a photo of her at 7 years of age.

Here is a little better photo of Sophie.  She is on crayfish and rock patrol.  That is her self assigned job when we are camping. :)

I'll have to find one where she is not wearing her vest so you can see her white spot. Twins....? :D

This is what Luci does as soon as she is done eating after a long day in the field. Then in the morning she will sit by the door in anticipation. This pic was taken at the Delux Hotel....anyone been there??

She is actually not a pure GSP. She was more of an accident. Her Dad knocked up the neighbors chocolate lab and out came Luci. I did a favor for the guy and he gave her to me for free. She is a pheasant hunting maniac ;D

Gosh dangit. You are making me want another dog but with my job am unable to take care of one like one should be. I specially like the pics of the chessies as that all I've had is chessies and chessie lab crosses.

Duke, the most important tidbit of information I can offer you is make sure your dog is properly exposed to gunfire.
do not blow it like I have done in the past.
try not to fire over your dog if it is not used to gunfire.
if you are unsure, it is best to let someone else shoot from afar and just watch your doge reaction. to some dogs it is nothing. to others, it is the thing that can make or break your hunting companion.
nothing worse than leaving your dog at home because it is afraid of gunfire. pretty much usless for anything other than a house dog then. :(
just be careful.
