Title: 4 inches on Minnewaska!!
Post by: LandDr on November 11/28/08, 04:16:33 PM
Fish On Bait and Sport
Glenwood, MN
Lake Minnewaska

4 inches on Minnewaska!...Earlier this week they have been fishing Emily and Reno pretty good and now Minnewaska has a good 4 inches of ice as well.  With the temps dipping into the teens this weekend with daily highs below 30, I expect some good ice being made and a lot of more fishing.  Glenwood Beach, Ballroom, Bottle Bay and Priests Point are some of the more popular spots right now with shiners and fatheads being the bait of choice.  This is always a great time of year to really get into the walleyes with the first ice.  Crops are pretty much out now and with that pheasants will be easier to locate.  Focus on the crop and habitat edges and I am sure that you will have a chance at your limit.  Pope County is one of the best counties for public land as well so there are many places to hunt.  We have some discount prices on shells if you are still in need of ammo.  Muzzleloader season starts this weekend and there is high interest in that.  PLM and QDMA have teamed up with a Big Buck Contest at Fish On Bait and Sport...stop in if you want to enter.  Grand prize will be by drawing for a CVA Optima Muzzleloader with the biggest buck receiving a Moultrie digital camera...so everyone has a chance to win.  We will have ample supply of fatheads and shiners as well as regular items.  Starting this year, Fish On will also be providing fish house rental and assured that houses will be placed on the hot spots!

Fish On!!

Kyle,
Fish On...and on...and on...and on...and on!

Thanks for the report LandDr! I am headed past Minnewaska tomorrow and was wondering how much ice she had on her.

Some reports of 5.5 inches of ice and most have said that it is really good ice.

We have not had enough people back in to get a report but early ice is always good.

Fish On!
