A friend of mine took a trip over to Jackson Hole, WY this weekend.

Here are a couple pictures from the elk refuge she sent me.

A month ago I saw a TV show about hunting sheds in the WMA's.  They don't allow anyone in the area until a specific date.  There are people lined up for miles to get in.  Some on horse back, 4 wheeler etc.  When they open the gates it looks like the start of a bass tournament.

A friend of mine snagged a few elk sheds on his honeymoon from Yellowstone.   :whistling:  Very impressive.

I guess the reason they delay it in some areas is they allow certain non profits to pick first, who then sell to benefit their groups.

I found some nice ones out of fish creek.. the problem with an elk shed when your 10 miles in on mule is you have to carry em out. we found a stack of em and we only took 2 out per man and left a stack. I got 2 real nice ones from the previous year that still had color and would easily be a 300 class bull.
