Title: Oahe/Sharpe 26-27 Report
Post by: Hutch on May 05/28/11, 08:06:06 AM
Fished out of Spring Creek Marina both Thursday and Friday going up on the Cheyenne on Wed then to the bend on Thursday. We fished in 10 to 20 feet of water both place's and using bttmbouncers/minnows. We caught 19 walleye in the Cheyenne on Oahe and 12 fish walleye limits at the bend on Sharpe. Fishing is very good but weather still not ideal some days. The talk of the town is flooding and high water due to record releases on all of the dams on the Missouri river. I can't see any harm to fishing other than some muddy roads to so ramps however pay attention to current as it can make a difference in were to fish. Smelt are still shallow so not many going thru tubes yet. I am not sure what will happen in July/ Aug. Real damage is in unfortunate people being affected in flooding along river. Corp has placed a no wake zone from bad river to dam in Pierre area. All around fishing for all species is very good but not at peak summer bite yet. You can have some fun now if weather stays good.
