Fishing in the Pierre area is excellent with a major bite both at west bend on Sharpe and on Lake Oahe. Most of the fish are being caught in shallow water(10ft or less) with pitching jigs/gulp bottom bouncers crawlers/ minnows and trolling shallow plugs all working. Lake Sharpe is closed to boating from antelope creek to dam because of high discharges/ flooding but Oahe is unaffected as is west bend area on Sharpe. Fished Dave and Carol Kenedy and their friend to limits of bass and some big walleye then fished Hupka group Jeff, Jim and Joe to possession limits of nice walleye along with numbers of northern, white bass and smallmouth. Caught all of these fish from Brush creek to Minniconjou in the Cheyenne arm of Oahe. The Hupka group thought we caught over 50 walleye a day but if you want to come in with bigger fish you have to throw a lot of 13 to 14 inch fish back. Lots of the little guys around making for a great future fishery for Oahe. Governor has made a no fishing zone for one half mile from face of Dam due to whirlpool around tubes so Salmon fishing there nonexistent. Northern fishing very good.
