Title: July 2nd - 5th Fishing Report
Post by: Hutch on July 07/05/11, 10:08:01 PM
Well the July 4th weekend brought great weather and great fishing. I think just about everybody with a little knowledge and good equipment caught plenty of fish. I guided the Jay Wright group of guys from Nebraska to possession limits of walleye with all of there over's and a 18 inch avg. on rest, some northern, catfish and a few smallmouth and then took Ken and Marianne Tesar from around Crete, Nebraska fishing on 5th July and they caught a real nice bunch of walleye with all there over's and 18 inch avg. on rest. Fished out of Bush landing and caught some of these fish in 17 to 20 fow but still caught at least half of them in under 10 fow. I am hearing about more fish coming from 17ft. or more now so if you aren't catching shallow go a little deeper as water warms. Boat ramps not as crowed after 4th. All roads open to Pierre and bite is excellent over all from Cheyenne to Akaska. Crawlers still my bait of choice but trolling works. Leeches working also. Salmon still spotty but some nice fish coming from 45ft to 60ft down.
