Title: Looking
Post by: THG on March 03/04/12, 09:42:41 AM
My 9 year old Max died 9-1-2011 and it is time to look for another. Looking for a medium to small field bred English springer spaniel that can be trained this summer and hunted this fall. Prefer a year or less old and at a cost where I get what I pay for. Will supply a good country home, lots of training with birds, approate preventive meds-vet care, and all the love, attention, and hunting they can handle.

Sorry about Max and glad you're in the market again.  I don't know of anyone running or breeding those, but I'm sure some others here will have some recommendations.  Good luck with your new pooch. :happy1:

Tom Ness of Oahe Kennels, Menoken,ND http://www.oahekennels.com/drupal/?q=node/1 (http://www.oahekennels.com/drupal/?q=node/1)  is one of the best trainers and breeders of English field cocker spaniels.  Some one to call to ask about field Springers as he knows all the breeders of field trial spaniels, and has a few Springers also.   If you were to see his little English cockers hunt though you would get one.

i'ld also toss an add on craigslist saying your looking for one or to "rehome" one.. your not suppose to do the pet thing there and your add may get flagged pretty quick.. but I've sold a number of firearms on craigslist in the brief time my adds have stayed up.

Re-homed a field bred 5 year old female English springer spaniel Libby an experienced pheasant hunter which she proved today by flushing a rooster and then taking out two runners and flushing two hens on our short walk today. She is a chunky at 48 pounds should be about 38 and refresher on obedience and control in the field will happen this spring-summer.
