Title: Ice conditions getting better, but be cautious!!

Ice conditions on Ely area lakes are getting better, but the heavy snows have left many spots full of slush even with the severe cold spell we're under.  This looks to continue for at least another 10-14 days.
Be careful if coming up to fish, and plan on walking with knee high waterproof boots when pulling your portable out on the ice.
Trout opener outside of the BWCA is January 18th, and ice conditions should be very good by then!!
