Title: Slush reports
Post by: DDSBYDAY on December 12/15/13, 04:40:54 PM
Any word on the slush conditions?   I was hoping some of that water would suck up the snow and refreeze.  We may have another weather pattern soon similar to the last one.   :banghead: :banghead:

Using my other means of information, I have found cases where there is still a bit of slush around the edges of the lakes up north, but once you get 100yards out, most have cleared up.  Not sure of the ice reports, but the slush could be clearing up before the next wave, these cold nights are helping.

I helped put a spear house on Lower South Long Lake (Brainerd) on Friday. There was around a foot of ice near shore but 10 inches out a hundred yards. We hit intermittent slush with a few spots the wheelers did not break through. Watched a guy with a plow on the wheeler make a path across the lake and it looked similar with good going for a while then a stretch co darker slushy areas.

It was an adventure and would not recommend it unless you have a very warm garage to thaw out the equipment when you get home.
