Title: Take a free tug ride now!
Post by: Lee Borgersen on March 03/31/14, 08:29:08 PM
Ride along as tiny tug breaks ice in Duluth Harbor. Experience the sights and sounds as the tiny Helen H. begins work. She's breaking the ice around ore freighters.

Helen is not so small she is a 90 footer with a 2000 hp engine and she is quick! Of course you put her alongside a thousand footer and she looks kind of small. I guess we take seeing these big boats here for granted as we see them everyday and when you are in your fishing boat riding past them when they are at anchor and look up seven stories to see the bridge on them then you get impressed again. I always chuckle when we get freighters in and you see a bobber floating in the water alongside and follow the line up forty feet to someone hanging on the rail fishing.
