With few exceptions, all of the lakes in the Ely area are ice free.
Bayley Bay on Basswood Lake and Snowbank lake still have some large areas of ice floating, but should be out by the weekend.
Water is high, cold, and fishing is sporadic but should get better when and if the temperature gets over 45 degrees.
